November 2024

Dear IHSS Providers,

November is National Family Caregivers Month, and so we extend our deepest gratitude and admiration to all of our caregivers who selflessly dedicate their time, energy, and love to support family members in need. Your commitment and compassion embody the true meaning of kindness and resilience. We honor the sacrifices you make, the comfort you provide, and the hope you bring. Thank you for your unwavering devotion, for every quiet act of service, and for being the compassionate heart of our families and communities.

Leticia Ortega of Public Authority and Jason Sagar of the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) spoke to the Ventura County Board of Supervisors on Oct. 29 about caregiving, and they were joined by additional HSA staff and many caregivers as the Board recognized November as National Family Caregivers Month.

This banner is hanging in the County of Ventura's Hall of Administration for the month of November.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Having Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available to you as an IHSS provider is an important part of your daily work to ensure all are protected from injury, illness or infection while caring for others.

Our Public Authority offices have been diligently providing this equipment (gloves, masks and hand sanitizer/wipes) to IHSS providers and the recipients they care for since COVID-19. Please be advised the current supply of gloves, masks and wipes has shifted to SEIU2015 to distribute to IHSS providers in Ventura County. Our offices only have a limited supply of masks and wipes available to distribute.

Please contact SEIU2015 to arrange to obtain additional PPE supplies at 855-810-2015 or 805-256-4920.
