Dear Families of the MS 104 Community:

Spring Break has arrived! Our students and staff have been working extremely hard over the last few weeks. The arrival of the break will provide your children and our staff the opportunity to relax, rest, and rejuvenate in preparation for the final stretch of the school year. For those members of our community observing Passover and Easter, I wish you a happy holiday with your loved ones.

As a reminder, staff will be taking time over the break to disconnect from work. Please note that any messages that are sent to staff during the break will be responded to upon our return from the break.

I will limit my communication to our families during the break as well as I want to ensure that you are able to enjoy time away uninterrupted. In the event of a matter that is of importance, I will be sure to provide an update accordingly.

Administration of State Tests in ELA and Math

Upon our return from the Spring break, we will be administering the New York State ELA examination to students in grade six through eight. The dates of administration are as follows:

Wednesday, April 19th

Thursday, April 20th

In May, we will be administering the New York State examination to students in grades six and seven. Students in grade eight will not take this assessment as they will be taking the Regents exam in June. The dates of administration for the math test are as follows:

Tuesday, May 2nd

Wednesday, May 3rd

The teaching staff is committed to ensuring that our students are as prepared as possible for these exams. We will continue to do all we can to give our students every chance at doing their personal best.

After a three year hiatus due to COVID restrictions, I am so excited that our PTA will be hosting our IN PERSON Spring Fundraiser! The fundraiser is a way to contribute to our PTA while connecting with other families and staff members. It is always a fun event and a great way to support the school!

The Auction Fiesta Fundraiser will take place on Friday, May 5th here at the school. Tickets are on sale now for $75. Food and drinks are included with your ticket.

NYC School Survey Deadline Extended to April 20th!

The window to complete the NYC School Survey has been extended to Thursday, April 20th! Completing this survey provides you with an opportunity to share valuable feedback about your experiences as a parent/guardian of our school community. The administrative team considers the responses of our students, parents/guardians, and teachers greatly when developing plans for the following school year.

Paper ballots were sent home with students a few weeks ago. Parents/guardians can complete the paper survey and have it handed in to your child's homeroom teacher. Surveys may also be completed online by visiting NYCSchoolSurvey.org. To access the survey, please enter a lower case "f" followed by your child's OSIS number.

I thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this survey. Your feedback is an invaluable resource and an important source of data to utilize when planning for our students and families experiences at our school.

Estimadas familias de la comunidad MS 104:

¡Las vacaciones de primavera han llegado! Nuestros estudiantes y personal han estado trabajando muy duro durante las últimas semanas. La llegada de las vacaciones brindará a sus hijos y a nuestro personal la oportunidad de relajarse, descansar y rejuvenecer en preparación para el tramo final del año escolar. Para aquellos miembros de nuestra comunidad que observan la Pascua y la Pascua, les deseo unas felices fiestas con sus seres queridos.

Administración de Pruebas Estatales en ELA y Matemáticas

¡La ventana para completar la Encuesta Escolar de la Ciudad de Nueva York se ha extendido hasta el jueves 20 de abril! Completar esta encuesta le brinda la oportunidad de compartir comentarios valiosos sobre sus experiencias como padre/tutor de nuestra comunidad escolar. El equipo administrativo considera en gran medida las respuestas de nuestros estudiantes, padres/tutores y maestros al desarrollar planes para el siguiente año escolar.
