Updates For Our Community

Dear Hallett Families,

We hope you had a great week!

We received big news this week and we're so excited to share it with you! We have a new bell schedule for next year, 8:50am - 3:50pm! Thank you to all of the families and community members who continued to advocate for this shift, for the past several months. Please click the video to the right for more information.

A reminder that SchoolChoice round 2 is opening soon it's important to spread the word about our bell schedule shift so new families can make Hallett their home, too!

CMAS has finished up this week for our 3rd and 4th graders! Next week we have CMAS Science testing for our 5th graders! Please continue to send your child(ren) with a water bottle, and make sure they are well-rested so that they continue to crush these assessments!

Read below for important updates!

Have a great weekend!

CMAS Testing

Next week, our 5th grade students will take Science CMAS. It is very important that our students participate in these assessments. We need to know what our students know and identify any academic gaps that occurred as a result the pandemic. We will plan for addressing these gaps next school year. The best way for us to achieve our goal of moving off the state accountability clock is for students to show what they know and can do on the CMAS exams.

Test taking is an important skill that students will be asked to perform throughout their lives. Whether it's the SAT or ACT for college, the GMAT, MCAT, LSAT or other post-graduate assessments or licensing exams for trade careers, performing your best on assessments ultimately provides access to the best opportunities in life.

I encourage you to have your child participate in CMAS testing this year. Thank you for your support!

Parents of Children with Medicaid/CHIP Insurance

Auto-renewal (pandemic protections) for your child’s insurance is ending. You may see it called “Medicaid unwinding,” but it basically means you’ll need to update your contact information so they can let you know when you need to renew your child’s insurance. A gap in insurance could be financially devastating to your family. Visit https://www.healthfirstcolorado.com/ to confirm or update your phone number, mailing address, email, or other contact information.  Families could be notified about their renewal paperwork at any point this year or early next year. DPS has a medicaid department who can help navigate if you have any questions or concerns. Their number is 720-423-3661.

PHNEE Update

News from PHNEE: After a 3 year hiatus due to COVID, we are happy to bring One Park Hill Day back to the neighborhood. The event is for all third graders in the Park Hill elementary schools and will include a performance and lessons from The School of Breaking along with some outdoor activities. This year's event will be on Tuesday May 30 at the Hiawatha Davis Recreation Center. We could still use help with the logistics and funding. Reach out to us at info@phnee.org if you can help, and consider a DONATION to cover the costs. Read the full April newsletter here.

Roundup River Ranch

As summer approaches and you are making your schedules, consider this free, short-term camp option at RoundUp River Ranch for your students with Asthma and a few other health conditions. See the flier for details.

We're So Glad You're Here

We know that students who attend school regularly experience greater academic success than students who do not have regular attendance. At Hallett we celebrate students who have excellent attendance by acknowledging them during community circle, going on field trips to Skate City at the end of each trimester, and providing an age-appropriate movie and snacks for our youngest learners. Students who meet our goal of 95% attendance (which means that students miss 1 day or less a month or are tardy less than 3 days a month) are eligible to participate in our celebratory activities.

Students who are absent 3 days or less, or tardy 9 days or less from March 6-May 12 will be eligible to participate in our celebratory activities.

We want your chid(ren) here at school everyday ready to learn, and when they are we will celebrate them!

Consider Supporting Hallett

The Kroger Family of Companies is committed to community engagement, positive social impact and charitable giving at the national and local levels. Every community is unique, but our common goal is to partner with the neighborhoods we serve and help the people there live healthier lives.

One of the ways in which we do this is through our King Soopers Community Rewards program. This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day. Once you link your Card to an organization, all you have to do is shop at King Soopers and swipe your Shopper’s Card. Here’s how it works:

1. Create a digital account.

A digital account is needed to participate in King Soopers Community Rewards. If you already have a digital account, simply link your Shopper’s Card to your account so that all transactions apply toward the organization you choose.

2. Link your Card to an organization.

Selecting the organization that you wish to support is as simple as updating the King Soopers Community Rewards selection on your account.

1. Sign in to your account.

2. Search for your organization here.

3. Enter the name the organization you wish to support.

4. Select the appropriate organization from the list and click “Save”.

Your selected organization will also display in the King Soopers Community Rewards section of your account.

3. Your organization earns.

Any transactions moving forward using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program, at no added cost to you. King Soopers donates annually to participating organizations based on your percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending associated with all participating King Soopers Community Rewards organizations.

If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Service Center.
