Thank you so much, Hearst Foundation!

This month, we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on the Hearst Foundation, whose generosity is making an incredible difference in the lives of individuals with autism. We are deeply grateful for their generous award of $150,000 to support our Residential Services Program.

At Avondale House, our Residential Services Program provides life-long, 24/7 care for adults with autism, offering not just a place to live but a true home to call their own. This vital program ensures that our residents receive the personalized support they need to thrive, including assistance with daily living skills, health management, community engagement, and recreational activities that promote independence and quality of life.

Thanks to the Hearst Foundation’s remarkable support, we can continue to expand and strengthen this program, ensuring that our residents have the stability and care they need now and in the future.

Meet Chris, an Avondale House resident

"Our son Christopher has been a residential client at Avondale since 1993. In all these years he has always received excellent care from the Avondale residential staff. The staff members are very caring and conscientious and that means the world to us! Christopher comes home every Saturday and is always happy to be home, but he is never reluctant to return to the group home at the end of the day. That speaks volumes in itself. We are so grateful for Avondale and would highly recommend it to other parents in a similar situation!"

Congratulations to our January Team Member of the Month!

Congratulations to our January Team Member of the Month, Jermarius! Avondale House Team Members say "Jermarius works in facilities and is an incredible asset to Avondale House. His positive attitude and willingness to take on even the most challenging tasks are qualities that make him stand out. It's rare to find someone who approaches all situations with such a helpful mindset. Jermarius is always ready and willing to help out even when requests may be extreme and non-typical. He never complains and handles every request quickly." We're so glad to have him on our team!
