Dear Habitat for Humanity,
As we approach the holiday season, I am excited to invite you to a special event that brings together the spirit of the season with the values that drive our work at Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County. On Saturday, November 23 at 3 p.m., we’ll be hosting our second annual screening of the beloved holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.
This timeless film has long been a favorite for families, and its powerful message about service and community is something that resonates deeply with us. The story of George Bailey teaches us about the profound impact one person can have on the lives of others. It’s a powerful reminder of the importance of selflessness, the need to support vulnerable populations, and the lasting difference we can make by coming together to help our community.
As we reflect on these themes, I am proud to share that Monroe County Habitat has been doing just that for the past 36 years. Since 1988, we’ve built more than 233 homes, providing stability and safety for over 860 neighbors, including nearly 500 children. This event is a wonderful opportunity not only to celebrate the holiday season but also to reflect on our collective efforts in expanding affordable housing and building stronger, more resilient communities in Bloomington.
I hope you’ll join us for this family-friendly event, which promises to be a fun and meaningful way to embrace the holiday spirit. It's also a great chance to learn more about our ongoing work and how you can be a part of this important mission.
Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing you there!
