Spring is Here!

Well, we survived the time change, the days are longer now, the sun is shining in between rain storms, the earth is soaking up the water. The flowers are blooming and spring has sprung!

We are so grateful for all the help from volunteers and cast members that made the Murder Mystery such a great run. The Tam Valley Improvement Club (TVIC) is starting rehearsals for the Rhubarb Review this week - save the dates in May (12&13, 19&20) and come see the longest running variety show in Northern California!
Enjoy the sunny weekend!
Tree Down in Kay Park

Sadly, a tree fell in Kay Park this week. It is in the area we have closed off to grow new grass. Our tree specialists have reviewed the situation and decided that the best course of action is to let the ground dry out a bit before we remove the tree. This will give the grass the best chance to take root and keep us on track for the scheduled closure of that area. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this unfortunate situation.
TCSD Board Work Session Highlights

At its March 22nd work session meeting, the Board conducted a study session focused on the preliminary Five-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The purpose of the Five-Year CIP is to provide the Board and community with a snapshot of potential Wastewater, Solid Waste, and Parks & Recreation capital improvements to be undertaken by TCSD over the next five-year period. Staff will incorporate the Board’s comments received from the March 22nd meeting into a revised draft Five-Year CIP that will be discussed at the TCSD Budget workshop scheduled for May 24th.

Nothing But Toilet Paper!

Plugged sewers and blocked pumps cause backups in the sewer system and it can happen at any time- 2:00am, weekends, holidays, etc. TCSD sewer crew works tirelessly to prevent it- preforming video inspections of the sewer, finding spots where tree roots have started to grow in and kitchen oil and fat have accumulated to form a partial blockage that could have caused an overflow into the homes and creek nearby.

What can you do to help?

  • Flush no items other than toilet paper. Even items marketed as flushable, are not compatible for the sewer system.

  • Fats, Oil and Grease (F.O.G) do not go down the kitchen drain. Make sure to sop up oil or fat from your pans with a paper towel and throw it in your green cart. For larger amounts, collect your cooking oil and call TCSD to make a drop-off appointment at (415) 388-6393. We can also mail a grease collection container to residents upon request.
