A Message from Pastor Sara

We are at a new place with the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally! On April 3rd, Luminis Health lifted all mask mandates at its various facilities such as AAMC. And on Monday President Biden signed a bipartisan resolution to end the national emergency for COVID-19. As we have done all throughout, we have looked to local, state and federal governments as well as medical experts to help us make wise and prudent decisions for the safety of our gatherings at Joy Reigns. With the end of the national emergency, we will no longer be requiring masks for our worship participants. Of course, masks will still be welcome for those who wish to wear them. And we ask that if you have been exposed that you continue to follow CDC masking guidelines as appropriate.

The two weeks that turned into three years has felt like wandering in the wildness. It took way longer than any one expected. We didn't know where we were going. We just wanted to go back. And yet, just like the biblical wandering in the wilderness, during the COVID-19 pandemic, God went with us. God led the way. God provided in some amazing and surprising ways.

COVID-19 has been a collective trauma that we will continue to deal with systemically for years to come. Please continue to pray for our ministries and this community of faith as we emerge post-pandemic (whatever that means) as followers of Jesus together in this amazing faith community!

God's Peace,
Pastor Sara

PRAYERS

United in the hope and joy of the resurrection, let us pray for the church, the world, and all in need.

God of rebirth, the good news of your resurrection brings refreshment to a weary world. Following the women at the tomb, EMPOWER us to boldly share your radical love through our words and our work.

As you breathed your Spirit into the disciples, breathe your spirit of healing upon all creation. Nourish the earth with sufficient rains. STRENGTHEN us to counter the effects of pollution and destruction.

You prepare the disciples for their ministry by claiming their fears and granting them your peace. Equip our communities’ leaders. GIVE them a spirit of peace and hearts that burn for justice, that their leadership reflects your love.

You come among us in unexpected ways. SEND us to those who hide in fear or question your love. Be a healing present for any isolated by addiction, incarceration, mental illness, chronic pain, sickness, or grief.

Rejoicing in the victory of Christ's resurrection, we lift our unique prayers and praise to you now.

HEAR OUR PRAYERS FOR:

...Prayers for Dawn Baker

...Prayers of healing for both Bryan and Alex

Prayers from the Joy Thrift Prayer Wall:

...-Prayers for Joy Thrift as it takes on new leadership- that they be reminded of the love of this community during their new roles.

...Prayers that we have heard the needs of the community and can answer their needs.
