Invitation Sunday

February 5

Who will you invite?


When is the last time you invited someone to church? Now is your chance to invite a neighbor, friend, or the person you just met at the dog park. Invite them to a service and don't forget to sit next to them. You can also encourage them to come at 9:15 AM for a special "Invitation Sunday Forum" led by Rev. Matt Holcombe which will provide a gentle runway for those seeking a spiritual home or if they just want to learn about St. Michael's.

There are numerous ways to volunteer and help. Each Sunday we need over 30 individuals to step forward to assist with Worship Services and provide hospitality.

  1. CLICK HERE to volunteer on a Sunday to help with Worship or Hospitality.
  2. CLICK HERE to donate Altar Flowers for an upcoming Sunday in February or March.
  3. CLICK HERE to join a Care Team and provide an act of service to a member in our community who is in need.
  4. Bake a few dozen cookies and bring them to church for Coffee Hour or a special event. Please drop off in the church kitchen.

Prayer Card Station


Rev. Angela continues to recover at home and has been meeting with doctors and specialists to create a care plan. The Lerena family is grateful for the prayers and love. To show your support make a Prayer Card for Rev. Angela and her family in the Gathering Space this Sunday.

2023 Outreach Grants

Due January 31

St. Michael's Outreach budget includes grant money to provide to organizations in need. Do you know of an organization in need that you feel passionate about? If yes, you are invited to submit a grant application describing the organization and corresponding need for funds. The Outreach Committee will review all submitted grant applications and vote on funding disbursements in February. Grant applications must be submitted in writing using the 2023 grant application form by end of day January 31, 2023. CLICK HERE to download the grant and instructions for submitting. Questions? Episcopal Church Women's Thrift House


Due to the many donations received recently, the Thrift House is not accepting donations right now. To also help make some space available, EVERYTHING is being marked 50% off for February! There are some amazing deals down at 1027 S. Tejon. Open Tues-Sat 10:00 to 4:00 p.m. We are always looking for volunteers to help sell, stock, and steam clothes. "Sacred Water"

Small Group, Feb. 7

We pray each Sunday for God’s Creation, our earth. Would you like to learn more about the challenges of caring for our environment and practical steps you can take to help nurture it? As a first step, our Creation Care team has been trained to facilitate the JustFaith Program of “Sacred Water: Oceans & Ecosystems.” Through prayer and spiritual practices, participants will explore their relationships with water in both Christian Scriptures and their daily lives. The Sacred Water small group will be a 10-week small group experience that will meet on Tuesday evenings. CLICK HERE to register for the small group that begins with a “Getting to Know” you session on February 7. CPR / AED Training

Sunday, February 12

CLICK HERE to sign up and participate in this hybrid CPR & AED training. Training will occur online in advance of the Sunday, February 12 in-person training at 12:00 PM. Cost is $50 per person, payable to St. Michael's Church. This training is open to staff, vestry, lay leaders, and all 16-years or older. Must register on or before February 1. Questions? Scout Sunday

February 12

On Sunday, February 12, we will recognize the scouts in our community and those who call St. Mike's their gathering space. All Scouts (all ages) are invited to wear their uniform. Scouts will be helping during the 10:30 service and recognized during the announcements. Girl Scout Cookies will also be available for sale after the service! Scouts can CLICK HERE to sign up. The Peel House


Belong Youth Collective (BeYou!) is a bold new partnership of 11 LGBTQIA+ affirming Colorado Springs congregations to create safe and welcoming space for youth to gather. Middle & High Schoolers are invited to join in large group community once a month at The Peel House on the campus of First Lutheran Church (1515 N Cascade Ave). BeYou! is a place for youth to belong, be themselves, feel God's love and be celebrated for the wonderful people that they are! Altar Flower Donations

Save your date now!


St. Michael's Flower Guild invites you to sponsor Altar Flowers for a Sunday in 2023. A $50 contributions allows you to give altar flowers in memory of a loved one, in thanksgiving, or in celebration of a special event. CLICK HERE to reserve a Sunday and to make a $50 contribution to cover the cost of flowers. Our gifted Flower Guild will purchase and arrange the flowers. Donations will be printed in the bulletin and read during the Prayers of the People on Sunday morning.
