Project CornerStone Updates

This year, Project Cornerstone ABC schools will focus on the theme Growing UPstanders. An UPstander is someone who stands up for others with kindness and empathy. Through active listening, openness to diverse perspectives, and collaboration, students will learn to build trusting, supportive relationships and develop the courage to take intellectual, emotional, and physical risks.

This October, students will read Have You Filled a Bucket Today?, Buckets, Dippers, and Lids, or Growing Up with a Bucket Full of Happiness by Carol McCloud. This is a simple yet powerful story that teaches how kindness and positivity affect us and those around us. Using the metaphor of invisible buckets, the book shows how kind words and actions "fill" our buckets, making us and others feel good, while unkindness "dips" from those buckets. It encourages students to practice empathy, protect their own happiness, and create a more caring school environment.
