TA Tip: How to Keep Calm as an Infant & Toddler Teacher

Working with infants and toddlers can be a lot and sometimes it can be stressful making sure everyone's needs are met. I know when I was an infant teacher, I often made little time for myself to unwind and recharge. You can’t fill from an empty cup, so here are some tips and tricks for you to sprinkle in some self-care and find your calm!  


  1. Breathing exercises, meditation or going for walks in nature!  
  2. Mental body scans, check out this helpful video that will guide you through a reflective and relaxing moment for just you!  Mindful Meditation (Body Scan)  
  3. Intentional Refocusing- This technique is simple and really does help to bring your mind and focus back to the present moment. One I really enjoy is the nature-inspired grounding exercise where you find a quiet space outside or where you can view nature and follow the five steps in the diagram below!
