The Lord Bless You and Keep You

During the dark days of World War II as men went off to war, one song provided hope and encouragement to millions: Vera Lynn’s, "We’ll Meet Again".

"We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day."

As Annette and I take our leave from St Francis, we depart with that same sense of sadness and joy. We are sad to leave you but also rejoice that we have finished our course believing that great days are coming for this community. Thank you for all the love and support you have given to me and my family. We say farewell but know that there is no such thing as a goodbye for a Christian, only “till we meet again.” As Vera Lynn’s song gave hope to soldiers and families, so this hymn speaks of our Christian hope:

God be with you till we meet again; by his counsels guide, uphold you,
with his sheep securely fold you; God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet, till we meet at Jesus’ feet.
Till we meet, till we meet, God be with you till we meet again.

So, the Sather family says, “God bless you, we’ll see you later!” Glory be to God!
