MESSAGE FROM RICKY
Dear Friends,
This past Sunday afternoon we gathered with people from around Mississippi and beyond to celebrate the installation of our new Bishop, Sharma D. Lewis. It was a wonderful time of worship, hosted by Anderson United Methodist Church. There was great music and a powerful message delivered by Bishop Lewis.
She took as her text, Mark 16:15, "Jesus said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the Good News to all creation." The theme of her message was a call to every clergy and lay person in our Conference to "Take Jesus to the Streets!" We are all called by Jesus to share the gospel, to invite people, and build relationships with those without a connection to the church.
I'd encourage you to watch the whole service to get a sense of Bishop Lewis' passion and her vision for the future of the Mississippi Annual Conference. Click here to watch a recording of the service: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dK7CYoGq3Ak
I would ask you to join me in prayer for Bishop Lewis, our District Superintendents, our Conference Lay Leader, and all of the churches in the Mississippi Annual Conference.
Grace and Peace,
Ricky

DONATIONS NEEDED
Our Flower Ladies are in need of small & medium flower vases. Each week they deliver flowers to our homebound, nursing home & assisted living members. This is such a wonderful ministry to be a part of for our community! There will be a drop off box outside the church office door for donated vases.
If you are interesting in helping with the Flower Ministry, you can sign up on the calendar in the sanctuary kitchen for the Tuesday you would like to make arrangements and deliver.

CARE NIGHTS ARE BACK!
Location: Worship Center
So many people start the new year off with goals of budgeting and saving. But more often than not, we end up letting our budgets fall to the wayside. This is because most peopele are not taught how to talk about finances or financially plan. So we decided to take budgeting into our own hands this year! On our first Care Nights of the semester, join us at 6 PM in the worship center as our very own Allison Killebrew talks about finances! Invite a friend and come ready to learn! Because when you know better, you can do better!

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK | |
UPWARD BASKETBALL
By Laney Bruce
Youth Intern
2nd & 3rd Boys' Upward Coach
Every week at Upward, I am given the opportunity to observe the players strengthening their relationship with Christ. At the end of each practice, we have a devotional, and after the games, we always have a team prayer. Typically towards the end of the season, students are open to say the closing prayer and more vocal with questions during the devotional. The upwards program teaches the kids different skills such as how to showcase sportsmanship, team work, and develop work ethic. As a coach, watching these kids learn the game of basketball and grow closer to Christ is the most rewarding aspect of this program.
