Note from the Heart of Ohio

Governing Authority

The Governing Authority would like to take this opportunity to wish all the families in the Heart Of Ohio Classical community a wonderful winter holiday. The board, families, faculty and staff are all founders of a new community school which promises to endure for generations to come. We are creating the best possible educational experience for your children, utilizing the proven

classical curriculum offered by Hillsdale College. We are proud of our teachers, who have embraced this style of teaching, and our very active PTO, which has organized several community-building events in a short period of time.

As you are no doubt aware, our headmaster chose to leave us this week. We are appreciative of the effort Mr. Weisbrod made in getting us off the ground. The Board is in the process of performing an extensive search for a highly qualified Headmaster. With change comes opportunity. We’ve endured bumps as well as successes during this ‘foundational period’. Our students are thriving. During the Board of Directors meeting Thursday night the representative from Charter School Specialists, who represents our sponsor St. Aloysius, communicated that CSS is comfortable with our progress both financially and academically. We are right where we should be for a new school.

We are aware of the need for better communication and transparency to Parents. It is important that our school build a trusting community and to do so improvement in communication is a number one priority. As with any first-year start-up, we can anticipate other opportunities that will prove to be learning experiences, setting us up for greater success in years to come.

A point to note. The re-enrollment deadline has been moved to February 1. Please look for future communications from the registrar’s office.

School Highlights

As we approach our winter break, we want to take a moment to express our deepest appreciation for your continued trust and partnership in your children's education. During this time of administrative transition, we want to assure you that our commitment to excellence in education remains unwavering. Our dedicated faculty and staff continue to provide the same high-quality instruction and nurturing environment that your children deserve and have come to expect.

We are particularly proud of how our school community has demonstrated remarkable resilience and unity through the different transitions that have occurred throughout our short time together. It's heartening to see our students engaged and thriving, our teachers passionate and dedicated, and our families supportive and understanding.

Looking ahead to the new year, we are excited about the countless opportunities and possibilities that await our school community. Your children's growth, learning, and well-being remain our highest priority, regardless of any changes in leadership.

We wish all our families a peaceful and rejuvenating winter break. Thank you for being an integral part of our school family. We look forward to continuing our educational journey together in the new year.

Best Wishes,

Katie Jo Urbancic

Important Announcements

Ms. Weaver, who has been an integral part of our faculty, will be leaving us at the end of the break due to personal reasons. We deeply appreciate the tremendous work and dedication she has shown during her time with us, and her contributions to our students and school will be greatly missed.

Starting after the break, Ms. Weaver's class will be seamlessly integrated into Mr. Orall's class. We are confident this transition will provide continuity in learning and ensure a smooth adjustment for all students.

Thank you PTO for your coordination of Winter Fest and thank you to any families that donated.

The Lost & Found bins located at reception will be emptied out during Winter Break. If your student is missing any articles of clothing or school-related items (water bottles, lunchboxes, etc.) please be sure to look next week!

We want to thank Dr. Park for his time with the Winter Recital.

Students return to school on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Thank you for joining us for our students' Winter Concert!
