The First of Many!
Congratulations to Joseph Mullener! He is currently a Teacher Resident in MRTP Cohort 3 and will graduate with the MAT degree this spring. Joseph is one of the first in the cohort to accept a teaching position: this fall he will be teaching Science at Ennis High School. Joseph is thrilled for this opportunity and cannot wait to have his own classroom. Go Mustangs!
Why Hire and MRTP Graduate?
MRTP graduates stand out because of the tremendous learning opportunities and field experience they have engaged in while completing the MAT. The degree program emphasizes the strengths and assets of rural communities. This positions MRTP graduates to be ready on Day 1 to teach in Montana's rural schools.
Does your school or district have an opening? Check here and scroll to the bottom of the page to see if your school is on the MRTP eligible school list.
Master of Arts in Teaching
The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) offers applicants, with a bachelor's degree, pathways to complete a teacher preparation program and become a licensed Montana teacher. The MAT supports teacher-of-record on Class V licenses to complete the education preparation coursework required for a Class II license.
Read more about the MAT program here and reach out directly to Jamie O'Callaghan for questions about how MSU can support candidates!
