Tomb, thou shalt not hold Him longer;

Death is strong, but Life is stronger;

Stronger than the dark, the light;

Stronger than the wrong, the right;

Faith and Hope triumphant say,

Christ will rise on Easter Day.

-Phillips Brooks-

That is exactly what happened - Jesus rose from the dead!

Sunday, we will meet Thomas, a follower of Jesus, who didn't believe it when his friends told him Jesus was no longer dead. Jesus did not leave him there bathing in his doubt without a towel of hope.  In firm, yet tender care, Jesus came to Thomas through locked doors, lifted his hands, and told Thomas to touch the holes once filled with rusty nails.  Jesus then lifted his cloak to display the pierced wound in his side and told Thomas to feel the scars.

Sunday we shouted “Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!”  We rejoiced in our crucified yet risen Lord who saved us from the curse of sin, and the eternal sting of death.   We proclaim the best news on the best day of the year!

But today is Wednesday.  The color of Sunday’s flowers has faded, the dresses have been hung for another special occasion, and the struggles of daily trials weaken our once joy-filled muscles.  The anxieties about tomorrow’s deadlines dominate our thoughts and rattle our hearts, and we doubt, just like Thomas.

May I take a moment to interrupt your day, and remind you that Jesus did not crawl back into the tomb …. the tomb is still empty! Christ is still Risen and death’s stinger has been broken off.  May the joy of your salvation in Jesus snuggle in your heart this Wednesday.  Rejoice, dear Christian, your Savior is Risen.

Join us Sunday as we see Thomas filled with doubt, and continue our series The Tomb is Still Empty.  I can’t wait!

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Getting to know the people of Grace Fellowship

Meet Ken & Jackie Marchetti!

They have 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren

Ken and Jackie bring such love and joy to Grace Fellowship. Always with a smile on their faces and laughter in their hearts, they love to be the hands and feet of Jesus in so many ways. This community is truly blessed because of them!

They usher at the 11:00 am services, so if you're a 9:00 am attendee, you may not have met them yet. However, you'll have the perfect opportunity to get to know them when they host our "Kick-Off to Summertime" party in June! Say hello the next time you see them!

How long have you lived in the valley?

They started out in Texas and then lived in Littleton for 15 years before moving up here almost 30 years ago!

What do you and your family like to do in your spare time?

Ken likes ranching. Jackie likes quilting, gardening, scrapbooking, and having parties. You can tell which one is retired. Lol

What is something fun you can share about your family that we might not already know?

Ken can drive, eat breakfast, talk on the phone, and look at the scenery all at once and is still alive. He was raised on a ranch and is still a cowboy at heart. Jackie loves to teach Bible studies. She loves watermelon but can’t grow it in her garden because it’s too cold here. 🥲. Jackie is also spoiled rotten by her husband, but most everyone already knows that!

Our amazing photographer/videographer, Katie Harmon, took lots of beautiful photos on Easter Sunday. CLICK HERE to access the photos.

LORD JESUS, HEAL OUR LAND, OUR BODIES, AND OUR HEARTS.
