November is an important month in The Redwood calendar as we take part in the Wrapped in Courage Campaign.

The campaign aims to raise alarm bells about the appalling impact of gender-based violence across Ontario.

We invite you to wear a purple scarf during November to signal to survivors that they are believed, valued and never alone. And, to remember those who lost their lives to femicide.

Wrapped in Courage is spearheaded by the Ontario Association of Interval and Transition Houses (OAITH), of which The Redwood is a member. Our Executive Director, Abi Ajibolade, has recently been appointed President of the OAITH Board.

We are thrilled to share that Redwood-Palooza 3, our come-as-you-are Friday night social, was a spectacular success! 

The Palooza net $30,100 to support our newest initiative, The Redwood Mobile Healing Centre, a custom-outfitted (used) RV, that will bring anti-gender-based violence counselling and prevention services to survivors in neighbourhoods throughout Toronto and the GTA.

Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets, brought along friends, donated auction items, drove up the bidding, volunteered and made a special gift in support of the Mobile Healing Centre!
