The Gatton College of Business and Economics is proud to announce the new Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics program. With an expected growth rate of more than 15% through 2030, the demand for professionals who are data literate and understand how to interpret and analyze that information will be vital to business success.
This new certificate includes the following classes: data visualization, data management, and analytical modeling, and an elective chosen from any other Gatton master's program. Graduate students completing this certificate will be capable of using analytics tools and models to analyze discipline specific problems and issues.

This month, the University of Kentucky launched a new online portal, Scholars@UK, open to the public that will facilitate access to research expertise and innovation at Kentucky’s flagship land-grant institution.
Developed through a partnership between Elsevier Research Intelligence, the Office of the Vice President for Research, Research Analytics, and Research Information Services, Scholars@UK highlights the breadth and depth of research at UK through individual researcher profiles, network analysis, and direct access to research output and resources.
Scholars@UK will allow researchers around the world and across different sectors of industry to find specific expertise and connect with UK scholars.

Equitable Economic Development Update

The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) has released its score on the University of Kentucky’s diversity report. The university tied with one other public, a four-year institution for the highest score in the state, illustrating immense progress in its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
CPE evaluates all public, four-year institutions and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) institutions each year based on 29 different metrics of progress that align with the state’s overall strategic agenda for higher education. The report is driven by institutional initiatives organized by and focused on each of the following three areas: opportunity, success, and impact.
This year, the university earned a score of 30 out of 36; 12/18 for quantitative elements of the report and 18/18 for qualitative.

The Kentucky Institute for Economic Development (KIED), the Commonwealth's premier economic development training conference, is back with a semester of cutting-edge instruction.
The Institute is designed to equip participants with the tools necessary to compete aggressively and successfully on a global stage for new economic development. Economic developers, elected officials, policymakers, and all stakeholders involved in local, regional, and state-wide growth should participate in KIED to gain capacity building skills, resources, and networks to accelerate economic development.
Courses will begin on August 15th at 8:00 AM EST and conclude August 18th at 5 PM EST. This four-day event will be an in-person offering taking place at the Embassy Suites Lexington Green.

UK HealthCare, the hospitals and clinics of the University of Kentucky, is set to become a primary sponsor with Lexington Sporting Club after signing a five-year partnership.
As Lexington Sporting Club continues to develop its youth and professional teams as well as its facilities, UK HealthCare will be integrated each step of the way, notably as the official healthcare provider and first-ever front-of-kit sponsor.
The sponsorship covers kits throughout each level of the club: from the youth teams to the USL Academy and League One sides, beginning with the upcoming seasons. The youth uniforms will be seen on pitches as soon as this fall, while the professional kits will be revealed later this summer.

Marianne R. L. Young serves as the Assistant Vice President for Student Development & Support within the Office of the Vice President for Student Success. In this role, she oversees academic, program, and career advising at the University of Kentucky within the areas of University Academic Advising, the Stuckert Career Center, Student Support Services, the Center for Academic Resources and Enrichment Services, and Student Community Resources and Services.
Prior to joining Student Success, Young served as an assistant dean in the Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky.
Young received her bachelor’s degree from Transylvania University, her M.S. and Ed.S. in Counseling Psychology and her Ph.D. in Studies in Higher Education, from the University of Kentucky.
