MESSAGE FROM RICKY

Dear Friends,

This is the week! The week we celebrate that the world has been forever changed. This holiest of weeks in the Christian year reminds us of the depth of love that God showed humanity through Jesus Christ.

The week began with a wonderful celebration of Palm Sunday, with shouts of Hosanna, the parade of children, and the voices of our choir telling the story of Jesus.

But the week isn't over. Over the next several days we will continue to tell the story. We will journey with Jesus to the upper room and remember the Last Supper. We will walk to the foot of the cross and hear the final words of Jesus. And then we will enter into the great silence of death, and we will wait.

Waiting is always the hardest part of grief. And yet, as Christians, we know that the wait will be worth it, as we gather on Sunday and find the tomb empty again.

My prayer for each of you this week, is that you will fully embrace the story once again. The story that proclaims that death ends in life!

Grace and Peace,

Ricky

EGGS & CANDY NEEDED

The annual FUMC Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Sunday, April 9th during the Sunday School hour. If you would like to donate pre-stuffed Easter eggs or individually wrapped nut-free candy for this event, we will have containers stationed in the narthex of the sanctuary, the hallway of the Education building, and in the church office. Candy should be able to fit into a plastic Easter egg. Suckers, unfortunately, DO NOT fit into the eggs. This event gives us a wonderful opportunity to spread the Easter story and the love of Christ to young and old alike. Thank you for the generosity you have always shown in supporting this fun ministry to our children. Questions? Contact Nikki Parsons or Lauren Beckmann.
