MAYOR'S UPDATE
From the desk of Mayor Rika Levin
A great time was had by all at last week’s Ossining Police Department Block Party! It’s at these types of events that solid relationships of mutual trust between OPD and the community are built. We are looking forward to the next one … TBD in August!
Congratulations to Chief Sylvester, who was sworn in last night as president of the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police. He now sits as president of both the Westchester County Chiefs of Police Association and NYSACOP. This is the first time since 2008 and the 14th time since its formation in 1901 that a chief from Westchester has been elected president of the state organization.

Way to go, Chief!

We will start this week's meetings with a short Special Meeting to approve a grant contract for the Ossining Youth Bureau. Following will be our Work Session, where the Board will have a conversation with the NYS Turf and Landscapers Association. They plan to discuss a letter that was sent to the Board in April of this year regarding their concerns on the gas-powered leaf blower legislation.
