Danny Grant, President and Chief Operating Officer of H.D. Grant Company, has been chosen as Kappa Sigma Tau Man of the Year, the highest honor awarded by the Texas Kappa Sigma Educational Foundation. His Houston-based company represents the best manufacturing lines in the HVAC industry and has won 126 awards for excellence.
Danny currently serves as TKSEF President and one of its five Directors. He also served as Tau Legacy 2015 Campaign Chairman, the Capital Campaign to fund the building of Warren Residence Hall. The Kappa Sigma Lodge bar was named after him for his substantial contributions. In 2021, the Tau Chapter honored him with the Frank Erwin Award for outstanding support and leadership.
"For more than a decade, Danny has consistently given his time, talent, and treasure to benefit Tau Chapter," said pledge brother Michael Sharpe '79. "He has repeatedly stepped up to serve in leadership roles, chair capital campaigns, and provide his expertise for our facilities' needs. He has also effectively spearheaded the refinancing of the property and its improvements, which is especially important in light of rising interest rates. Danny is often the guy to whom we turn for workable solutions. He knows how to get it done and how to engage the right people for help."
Danny has served in multiple community leadership roles, including as a Board Member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Development Board Member of the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese. He has served since 2021 as a Director of the 100 Club, a charitable organization that provides immediate and long-term financial relief to the dependents of law enforcement officers and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.
"I've known Danny for 46 years," said John Kincade '79, pledge brother and fellow board member. "He is the real deal in business; in the Houston civic community; in his faith, his church, and the Archdiocese; in his marriage to Suzanne; as a dad; as a Tau leader and champion; and as a dearest brother and friend. Danny so very much deserves TMOY recognition. He truly lives the K-Sig Creed. Plus, he's a single-digit handicap golfer, and he throws great parties!"
