Officer's Column
Start your day with GOD.

I googled the best way to start your day and found some interesting ideas from snooze your smart phone, eat a good breakfast, and make your bed. I start my day reading two different devotionals. I believe this time with God in the morning helps me throughout my day. I think when we spend time with God it opens our eyes to see Him in the people and situations we encounter daily.

Psalm 118:24
THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE. LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT.
I think the starting your day Praising God for another day is the best way.

Proverbs 3:6
GOD WILL DIRECT YOUR STEPS.
I know our days do not always turn out good, but knowing that we are loved and forgiven can help us throughout trials and tribulations.

1 Peter 5:7
CAST ALL YOUR ANXIETY ON HIM BECAUSE HE CARES FOR YOU.
I believe if we all focus on God and spread His word, we can change this crazy world we live in.

Mathew 5:14
YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD; A CITY BUILT ON A HILL CANNOT BE HIDDEN.
Sometimes just a smile, good morning or simply asking how someone is doing, is all we need to do to make someone’s day.

Prayer
Dear God, please help us to start the day with You so we can share Your love to all.
Help us to see You in everyone we come in contact with and in all we see throughout our day.
We pray for all your children to love one another as You have commanded us to do.
Amen

Officer Nominating Committee
The Nominating Team of WFPC has begun the process of seeking those who are called to serve WFPC as Deacons and Elders for this time in the life of our church, for a three year term beginning in January 2021. The Nominating Team is seeking names from the congregation for those with the passion, skill, and experience for the ministries listed below, vacated by current Elders and Deacons rotating off at the end of this calendar year.

All recommendations are appreciated and will be considered, but recommending a name to the Nominating Team does not mean they will be selected to serve at this particular time in the life of the church. Deadline for submission of names is July 19th. Names can be placed in the offering plate or submitted online using this link: 2021 WFPC Elder and Deacon Recommendations.

Please be in prayer for our Nominating Team as they consider future leadership for WFPC.
Feel Good Friday
Friday, June 25, 5:30 pm
Join us in celebrating what we learn at VBS at our closing celebration on Feel Good Friday, June 25th, 5:30-7:30 on the lawn outside the Christian Life Center! From 5:30-6:30 we will have dinner (chicken strips and corn dogs, kid favs!), fellowship time, and stations where your children can teach you what they've learned through games and crafts. At 6:30, we will gather for a brief presentation time, where the kids will share what they've learned as well as sing and dance to the songs they've gotten to know during their time in VBS! It promises to be a grand celebration so please make plans to attend! Reservations are due by Wednesday at noon; click here to make your reservation!
A Quick Note from the Task Force
We are thankful to be able to move toward doing things “as normal” around our church gatherings.
While we no longer have registrations for people coming to service, we are requesting that everyone sign in.

There is a twofold purpose for this. As we are not ready to pass the pew pads during service, it is the best method for keeping track of attendance.

It will also enable us to contact people in the event of COVID exposure during a worship gathering.
MANY THANKS for helping us with gathering this information.
Flowers, Flowers Everywhere!
Let’s shower Rebekah with flowers at her Retirement Luncheon on August 1. We need help making fresh flower arrangements for each dining table in the CLC. If you love working with flowers, we can use your help. Use your own container from home and use fresh flowers from your garden or purchased. Arrangements should be no taller than 12”. Arrangements need to be dropped off on 7/31/21, and containers will be returned after the luncheon.

Please contact Lisa Dolfi, lisadolfi@gmail.com, or Pat Moore, pamoore921@gmail.com for more information or to sign up to make an arrangement.
Expressions of Gratitude to Pastor Rebekah
As we near Pastor Rebekah's retirement, we invite you to share expressions of gratitude.

A letter box can be found in the Narthex for personal notes and will be presented to her at the retirement luncheon on August 1.

For those who prefer digital means, upload photos (or any video or gif) and words of thanks to our Kudoboard. She will get a computer link to the board, and it will be published into a memory book for the coffee table. There is no need to create an account. Just click here and proceed as a guest by July 15.
You may also upload 10-15 second videos to be included in the retirement video to be shown at the luncheon. Click here and upload a video from groups or families (deadline July 1).

Should you wish to send a monetary gift, you are welcome to do so. Pastor Rebekah and Derek expect to travel during retirement, and we will pool those gifts together to be presented at the luncheon. You may use Breeze online and select "Rebekah's Retirement Gift" as the giving category or send a check to WFPC designating the gift fund in the memo field.
Mission and Outreach
Glory Tabernacle Community Food Day Fed 180 Families!!
In addition to the weekly food pantry operations, once a quarter Glory Tabernacle Food Pantry receives a tractor trailer full of food to distribute to families in need. Here is a thank you note to WFPC volunteers for helping unload and distribute the food during their Food Day on June 5:

The Saturday, June 5th Community Food Day was a success. We could not have done it without our neighbors, WFPC volunteers. We were able to serve over 180 families, with perishable, and non-perishable food. Thank you all so very much for all you do.
To God be the Glory.

Giving Garden - Sweet Potato Planting Make-Up Day - Tomorrow!
Our heartfelt thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers who helped get the sweet potato plot ready for planting last Saturday, as well as a multitude of garden tasks. The veggies grow much better when they hear our laughter, music, and fellowship all around them (so do we!). Please come help get the sweet potatoes off to a great start this Saturday. We’ll work in fellowship to feed God’s people in need in our community. *There will be homemade ice cream and popsicles under the shade tent for all volunteers.* Please let us know you’ll be there via SignUpGenius.
