Become a Hospice Volunteer
Lake Sunapee Region VNA & Hospice is seeking volunteers to help support patients and their loved ones in their time of need. We also welcome those who have served in the military who wish to be companions for our Veteran clients. Our free six-session Virtual Hospice Volunteer Training will be held on Thursdays from 2:00-5:00pm from June 17 through July 22. Once trained, volunteer as much or as little as your schedule allows. Turning Points Network is Hiring
Family Violence Prevention Specialist
 
This full-time position works as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault who access services through our office, crisis line, and community. The qualified individual will also serve as a liaison between the Division of Children Youth & Families and Turning Points Network providing support to families. The ideal candidate will work well on a team, have awareness of the issues of domestic violence and sexual assault, and possess the passion and commitment to make a difference in the community and for survivors. No prior experience is necessary, as training is provided. This position is Monday-Friday daytime hours and requires a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance. Competitive salary & benefits. Must be able to pass a background check. AmeriCorps Victim Assistance Program (AVAP) Advocate
 
AmeriCorps Victim Assistance Program (AVAP) members provide crisis intervention, direct support services, and advocacy to individuals and families who have been impacted by domestic, sexual, and stalking violence, addressing critical needs of communities in Sullivan County, New Hampshire. Members receive training from experts in the field on crucial topics related to victim/survivor advocacy. As financial abuse presents a significant barrier to survivors in accessing safety, members integrate economic empowerment into their advocacy by providing financial literacy education and services. 
 
By serving a year with AVAP, you have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of victim/survivors of domestic, sexual, and stalking violence. The experience and training you receive will not only help you make a difference in the field of victim/survivor services but will also allow you to make valuable connections within the profession, community, and with other socially conscious individuals. 
 
Full time service includes a living stipend totaling $15,100. An educational award of $6,345 for full time service, is also offered upon successful completion of service. This can be used to pay back qualified student loans or to pay for the cost of attending a qualified higher education institution. Health insurance is also offered to full time members.

City of Claremont Boards, Committees and Commissions
Boards, Committees, and Commissions play an integral role in the community. They are comprised of citizens who generously volunteer their time and expertise. Being a city volunteer is a way to participate in community affairs, to work with interesting people, and to aid in Claremont's development.

Anyone who is a Claremont resident and would like to offer their services is welcome to apply for a seat on the Board, Committee, or Commission of their choice. The City Council, Mayor, or City Manager appoints new members according to the method dictated by city policy.
