Bidders’ Conference for Small CBO Capacity-Building RFP on Thursday

Have you been operating a small community-based organization (CBO) for at least two years and just need some assistance to scale up? The Children's Trust released a Request for Proposal (RFP) on April 3 for our Small CBO Capacity-Building initiative. If approved for funding, executive directors will participate in learning sessions, work with peer group and receive professional coaching while using funding to complete capacity-building growth plans. The 17th Annual Children's Trust Champions for Children Award Ceremony returns on Tuesday, April 27, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport and Convention Center, 711 NW 72nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33126. This year there are two new awards, including an Excellence in Youth Leadership Award, to go along with the rest of the honors and recognitions.

Preparing for Summer: Resources for Children & Youth with Autism Workshop

Research Opportunity for Families at the University of Miami

Do you serve parents or caregivers of children who are 6-11 years old? Are those children sometimes irritable, angry, or moody? Do they occasionally have tantrums, outbursts, or other intense emotions? Community Engagement Manager -($55,968 Annual)

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for performing a variety of community driven duties with an emphasis on maintaining contact with community groups, parents and other caregivers, providing support to residents on children’s needs, as well as evaluating and responding to community needs concerning children. The incumbent exercises independence of action and will possess considerable knowledge of community activities and needs for children and families and use considerable professional judgment in the performance of community engagement work.

Administrative Services Coordinator, Human Resources - ($48,668 Annual)

This Administrative Services Coordinator – Human Resources, is responsible for assisting in a variety of functions related to the administrative services of The Children’s Trust’s operations which include continuous quality improvement, planning, coordination, and management of special projects related to the area of Human Resources.

Media Manager - ($55,968 Annual)

The Media Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Communications with all forms of media, including earned and paid media, sponsored content, and social media. The Media Manager will be the primary executor of media strategies as directed by both the Director of Communications and the Chief Public Policy & Engagement Officer. The incumbent will also work directly with both marketing and public relations consultants, as assigned. Research & Evaluation Analyst - ($55,968 Annual)

The Research and Evaluation Analyst is a critical member of both cross- and inter-departmental teams at The Children’s Trust who engages in proactive problem-solving and critical thinking/analysis related to the design and effectiveness of various child, youth and family services. Primary responsibilities include: contributing to effective program and systems designs for The Children’s Trust’s priority investments in child, youth and family services; designing and maintaining sound data collection tools and systems to capture meaningful program, operational and community data in a user-friendly, accessible manner; and analyzing and making meaning from available data to tell our stories using compelling visualizations and reports, with an intentional focus on the specific audience and purpose of the message.

SUMMER INSTRUCTIONAL COACHES: Summer Instructional Coaches (ICs) are experienced and successful professional educators who provide content-specific support for BTM Teaching Fellows throughout the summer and engage fully in the BTM community. ICs dictate the level of academic rigor during Breakthrough Miami’s summer program through their interactions with Teaching Fellows. They effectively communicate content specifics to Teaching Fellows, guide Fellows through effective planning and execution, and hold both Fellows and students to the highest standards. ICs are expected to lead department meetings, visit Fellows’ classes at least twice a week, evaluate lesson plans and curriculum overviews, and meet individually with Fellows regarding their ongoing work. Since ICs are the only professional teachers on-site, they are accountable for the quality of instruction students receive, and are responsible for supporting BTM Teaching Fellows through their teaching experiences. This role starts on June 10 and ends on August 4.

The individuals in this role must have a State of Florida Teaching Certificate or equivalent; an outstanding track record as a professional classroom teacher; exceptional interpersonal skills; the ability to deliver positive, constructive and honest feedback; and creativity, energy and commitment to excellence.

SUMMER SITE COORDINATORS: Summer Site Coordinators (SSCs) are critical members of the summer administrative team and help ensure the smooth and safe operations of the Summer Institute at their assigned site. SSCs train, coordinate and oversee volunteers; supervise the summer food service program for Scholars and staff; order and keep an inventory of program supplies; coordinate general office administration; manage the Scholar drop-off and pick-up process; and assist with the execution of special events. This position starts on June 10 and ends on August 4.

The individuals in this role must have a strong academic record with a minimum of two years of college completion; and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

SUMMER ASSISTANT SITE DIRECTORS: Summer Assistant Site Directors (SASDs) work collaboratively with full-time directors at their assigned site to ensure a successful Summer Institute; and work closely with Scholars and their families, as well as Teaching Fellows to ensure their needs are met. This position starts on June 10, and ends on August 4.

The individuals in this role must have a bachelor’s degree; a high degree of flexibility in order to multitask between projects; exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in many different environments with people from diverse backgrounds; comfort and confidence in working with children and adults; and creativity, energy, and a commitment to excellence.
