PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Last week we welcomed Sgt. Dylan Bryan from the Florida Highway Patrol. Sgt. Bryan gave us an update on what specifically the agency does. He also explained what some of the specialty units that fall under the agency do, such as the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, K-9, interdiction, and air units. They just don’t sit around trying to catch speeders. He talked about traffic safety and how every traffic crash is preventable. We had a good Q&A session where the recent street racing incidents were discussed in better detail.

We are approaching the holiday season. Check out the calendar and get signed up for the great events that we have coming up. Don’t forget about the Meet-a-Member at Standard Feed this Thursday Nov 3, where all of the money will be donated to the Kid's Christmas Shopping Spree! And purchase your tickets for the Speakeasy Raffle.

I wish everyone a happy Halloween tomorrow. With that said, I would like to recognize and congratulate Howard Caplan on his retirement. Thank you for all that you do and have done for our great club. This week we welcome Quinton White, Jacksonville University Professor who will be giving us an update on the St. John’s River.
