Residential Secondary Suites in Airdrie

A secondary suite is a form of accessory suite. A secondary suite is a small home located within the principal residence. It has a kitchen, bed and bathroom separate from the principal home.

The City of Airdrie is considering a bylaw change around residential secondary suites (e.g., basement suites, carriage houses).

As a valued member of the Airdrie business community, your input is essential. This survey will help us understand the views of our members on whether these types of suites should be approved and under what conditions.

Rocky View Foundation

Rocky View Foundation (RVF) is a non-profit committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families in our community. Our mission is to develop, maintain, and manage affordable housing solutions that meet the diverse needs of our community.

What We Do:

RVF operates three Senior Supportive Living Level 2 lodges, offering 233 units of supportive housing for independent seniors 65+.
We provide 86 affordable apartments across four independent living buildings, creating a comfortable space for seniors 65+ to live independently.
Through the Rental Assistance Program, we help support low-income individuals and families throughout the Rocky View region, ensuring they receive the subsidy needed to make rent more affordable with a private landlord.

With a legacy of over 60 years in Airdrie and the surrounding area, RVF is a trusted, respected

organization committed to delivering sustainable housing solutions. Our unique approach, combining comprehensive support and engaging programs, ensures that everyone in our community has the opportunity to thrive.
