Labour Day Weekend in Niagara

With many gearing up for back to school, we know that the Labour Day Weekend is the perfect opportunity for families to get outside and explore our beautiful region.

Luckily for us, the beautiful weather that's on the forecast for the holiday weekend is sure to lift spirits and make for one last "hoorah" before we have to say "goodbye" to Summer.

Remember to maintain social distancing, bring a face covering, and wash hands frequently!

Visit Niagara Falls:

Take a visit to see the beautiful and majestic Niagara Falls before the leaves start to turn orange for Fall. With numerous Niagara Attractions open on Clifton Hill and surrounding areas, there's enough family friendly activities to keep you busy the entire day!

Experience the Falls from above with Niagara Helicopters. If flying isn't for you, check out the Revolving Dining Room and Observation Deck at Skylon Tower for fantastic views. Ride the Whirlpool Aero Car down over the Falls and then try the White Water Walk. If you're looking for a more low key day, take the family to see the butterflies at our famous conservatory. Check out the Adventure Passes available for purchase here to save money and make sure your day is jam-packed full of exciting adventures.
Back to School: Our Picks

With school approaching many are making the tough decision to send their kids back for in-class schooling or opt for at-home learning. Whatever your decision, we know that it wasn't an easy one!

In hopes of making it a little bit easier on the the whole family, we've put together a list of "Back to School" items that can be purchased locally in order to support our community and prepare you for the upcoming school term.

Face Coverings:

Face masks and coverings are required in Niagara and especially important in keeping your children safe as they return to the classroom. Try and add a little fun into the mix by letting them showcase their personalities with a variety of handmade masks with an assortment of colours, designs, and patterns!

Stay Up to Date: Covid-19

Ontario's app called "COVID Alert" will notify you if you have been in contact with anyone with COVID-19. As part of the Public Health effort to reduce the spread, this app works by:
  • Bluetooth technology exchanges signals with nearby phones
  • If an individual has tested positive for COVID, their public health authority will issue them a one-time key to enter into the app
  • If you have been in contact or within 2 metres of an infected person for over 15 minutes within the previous 14 days, your phone will alert you (as long as both phones have the app)
  • If you have been exposed, you will receive instructions through the app on what you should do next
At this time, the app is only available on smartphones in Ontario. "COVID Alert" is a non-mandatory notification app and not a contact-tracing app. Officials have maintained that the app becomes more effective as more people download it.
