This year's Council Yard Sale will be held at Camp Kingsley on August 27th, 28th and 29th from 9am to 5pm. The camps we call home, just like any other home, need to be cleared of unnecessary materials. The yard sale will feature everything from kitchen utensils to boats, and we want them all to move on to new homes. Fall Camporee
Join us to celebrate 100 years of Camp Kingsley during our fall camporee. From September 24th through the 26th, Camp Kingsley will host this year's fall camporee while also celebrating Camp Kingsley's 100th year of operation. Activities will include a Scouting history area, a time walk trail, activities from various Scouting eras and more. Registration is now open at the link below. SIGN UP TODAY!

Camp Kingsley is 100 and Woodsy Owl is 50!
As part of Camp Kingsley’s 100th Anniversary Camporee September 24, 25, and 26 Woodsy Owl, the anti-pollution will be stopping by as part of his 50th birthday celebration! Happy birthday to Camp Kingsley at 100 and Woodsy Owl at 50, as well as the BSA’s Save Our America Resources (SOAR) campaign initiated in 1971!

American Labor Merit Badge and Labor Day
As the school year approaches so does Labor Day. Many scouts may not be familiar with this merit badge or Labor Day as a national holiday. This is an appropriate time to consider the American Labor Merit Badge with the ever-increasing rate of globalization of the economy and multinational companies. Recently it was announced that Nabisco workers, the makers of Oreos and Ritz crackers have gone on strike. Reviewing the issues from both sides of the strike might help to make this merit badge come alive.
 
In 2015 the following was provided by the BSA. “It is estimated that one out of every four top unit leaders of Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops, Varsity Scout teams, and Venturing crews in the United States is a union member.”
