Juneteenth Jubilee: This three-day celebration includes activities honoring our newest federal holiday -- Juneteenth National Independence Day. Find out more here. And for those in Boston check out the Emancipator's event on June 18th.

The Emancipator:Bina Venkataraman joined us at our Memorial Day weekend vigil and some folks asked for more details about The Emancipator. This new publication is a collaboration between the Boston Globe and BU's Center for Antiracist Research. Bina shared "the site that the team recently launched (linked above), where you can read what's being published -- all free and in front of the paywall. The editors in chief, the amazing Amber Payne and Deborah Douglas, are actively seeking stories and op-eds of people who are incarcerated and other community voices often not heard."
The Juneteenth event in Roxbury, mentioned above is taking place the day before -- on Saturday June 18 from 5-7pm. It's free and open to the public, but the hosts are asking for RSVPs. The details are here and it should be a lot of fun.
