Meet Your Neighbors: Bridget & Don.

Cornelius Police Department's #1 fans.

It's hard to say whether or not Bridget and Don Rainey knew the impact they'd have on our community when they first moved to Cornelius. They relocated to our Town in search of a better life for their family. But since they've been here, they've touched the lives of everyone around them, and especially those of our Officers.

Shortly after moving here, one of our officers had been shot in the line of duty. Residents of our Town wanted to help in any way possible, but at the time there was no avenue for giving back to our Police Department.

Recognizing the need for a formal and legal donations process, the Raineys, along with their friends, Mark and Kim Sailors, founded TopDeck and received their IRS nonprofit designation in 2015. Since then, they have created a substantial and much-needed impact in our Town and PD. TopDeck's donations have included Honor Guard uniforms, life-saving QuikClot kits, and most recently, two new dual-purpose motorbikes to be used to access our Town's miles of greenways and trails.
In 2021 they'll be holding steady, continuing to raise funds to support our officers in whatever capacity they can. It's rare that our Police Department will ask for anything, but should a need arise, Bridget and Don will be on it.

We are incredibly grateful for their support and proud to have so many in our Town like the Raineys. Donations to TopDeck can be made here, and 100% of the proceeds will always go to CPD.
Police Bike Presentation

TopDeck will be presenting the second of two Police bikes to CPD on Monday, June 21, at the Board of Commissioners meeting. The first was presented in August of 2019.
These bikes are dual-purpose on-and-off-road vehicles. They'll be used to access places where traditional Police vehicles cannot go, like trails and greenways. The second bike was requested so that Officers could travel more safely in pairs. TopDeck will also be donating three additional helmets.

The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. You can tune in via Facebook or the Town's website.
Welcome, K-9 Officer Zon!

K-9 Officer Zon is a 17-month-old German Shepard who began working with the Cornelius Police Department on May 12. He was selected to replace our happily retired friend, K-9 Officer Britt.

Officer Sam Dellinger has been selected as Zon's partner-in-fighting-crime and the two completed a 7-week Basic Handler Course.

Zon is a dual-purpose K-9, just like his predecessor, and is trained in both Patrol and Narcotics.

Congratulations to Officers Dellinger and Zon on their new partnership!
