PA STEM Coalition
January Meetings

The Pennsylvania STEM Coalition, coordinated by The Pennsylvania Statewide STEM Ecosystem (PSSE) offers FREE twice-monthly webinars on timely STEM topics.

Our next STEM Coalition meeting will be "Remake Learning Days led by Tyler Samstag, Director of Innovation at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. Remake Learning Days Across America is an innovative learning festival for families and youth. Taking root in regions across the nation, these hands-on and engaging events are designed for kids of all ages at libraries, schools, tech centers, museums, play spaces, community centers, and more.

This session will be held on Thursday, January 13th from 4-5 PM. Register before or during the meeting by going HERE.

Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem &
Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective

The Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem is one of 94 international STEM Ecosystems and convenes STEM stakeholders to increase collaboration, coordination, and access.

In partnership with GSK. The Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective (Collective) is a 10-year initiative that seeks to increase the number of individuals from underrepresented populations entering STEM careers.

Now Open: Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective
FY22-23 Student Advisory Council Applications

The Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective (Collective) invites current 9th to 11th grade Philadelphia high school Students to apply to the Collective's Student Advisory Council (SAC). Students may come from any Philadelphia public, parochial, charter, private, or home school.

Th Collective's 10-year goal is to have 100% of STEM careers in Philadelphia be demographically proportional to the population of working-age Philadelphians. Youth voice is crucial for the success of this initiative, and we invite students to apply and be be part of our success.

Explore STEM Philly - Seeking STEM Volunteers

Through Explore STEM Philly-Chester, teachers work with PEF to secure and schedule STEM career professionals for classroom presentations. Our volunteer speakers undergo training, through PEF helps them design presentations that maximize student engagement.

We are seeking STEM professionals who are interested in sharing their experiences, career pathways, and passion with middle and high school students. Our program will begin in January 2021, and we are accepting presenters' applications now. To apply and for details, go HERE.

Seeking STEM UPenn Work-Study Student

The McKinney Center is seeking a UPenn work-study student for the current academic year. The STEM Project Assistant will help with all STEM education projects and initiatives at the McKinney Center They will participate in literature reviews, professional development design, and quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation.
