This Weekend Is Loaded With Auctions

Last night while at a concert I was still conducting patch business. I bought a big need that was offered to me privately for my OA sash collection. I have never stumbled across a flocked Vigil sash so while listening to Bob Dylan at the Outlaw Music Festival in Charlotte I made the deal. This fits very neatly with a new mission and vision statement that I've been working on within one of the book clubs I have been participating in.

One of the things I've known for a long time is that I REALLY believe in sharing and displaying our collections. So in getting that Vigil sash I have a VERY respectable and mostly complete collection of OA sashes to now share. Marcus Bailey had his display at the Charlotte TOR and now I can put together a similar set to display.

This homework to nail down my Mission/Vision statement comes from reading a classic self-help book Think And Grow Rich. Pretty much to establish your singular goal that the book promotes I need to figure out my "why" and where I am headed with my business. I still have some polishing up to do but when it's ready I'll share it with the readers.

Although I will give Bob Dylan credit as I had pretty low expectations for his musicianship and singing in these waning days my favorite song of the night was a reimagined version of Ramble On performed by Robert Plant and Allison Krauss. I have not been a concert guy my entire life because I am too cheap and probably can't be bothered to drive hours on a weeknight to go see a show. But in my 50s I'm trying to soak up life a bit more and I might just get a wild hair up my butt Wednesday and go see Alanis Morisette and Joan Jett.
