A classic expression of Unitarian Universalism is to devote a worship service to the practice of asking questions. Join ministerial intern Rowan Van Ness to ask one of your questions. You can bring a question with you to the service or submit one in advance, particularly if you plan to attend virtually, by emailing [email protected].
If you would like to attend in person, please register at rsvp.church/r/eJ7rm65u. And if you’d rather attend online – please do! Just find the livestream link at uusociety.org, or visit our YouTube channel.
To make our Meeting House as safe as possible, we ask that everyone who is 5 and older be vaccinated, and those 2 and older wear a mask while inside.
All are welcome to Outdoor Coffee Hour at 11 a.m. Zoom Coffee Hour will resume in August.
New Radical Welcoming Chalice Circle
Geoff Duke
"A radically welcoming community seeks to welcome the voices, presence and power of all people -- especially those who have been defined as The Other, pushed to the margins, cast out, silenced and closeted..." - Rev. Stephanie Spellers
Join us as together we explore the ideas and practices of Radical Welcoming through readings and reflections, and support each other as we challenge our own comfort zones and consider how to build Beloved Community that has room for all people.
Our next meeting is July 28, next Thursday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Zoom. We will be meeting on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, and always will have space for newcomers and for folks who just want to join for a session to see what it's all about.
A memorial service for Martha Fitzgerald, longtime FUUSB member, will be held on Saturday, August 6 at 1 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Burlington. The service will also be live-streamed; the link will be available on our website, uusociety.org.

Collecting New Information in Realm!
Christina Fulton, Director of Operations & Finance
As a safety precaution, we've decided to add three fields in Realm under Personal Information. The fields are Emergency Contact, Emergency Contact Phone Number, and Emergency Contact Relationship. We think this information is important so that if anything were to happen to someone while at the Meeting House or at a FUUSB event, we would easily be able to contact someone and let them know about it. So go ahead and log in to Realm - you know you haven't done it in a long time - and enter this information. When you get into your account, click on Edit and then on Personal Information. Scroll down to the fields and enter. Easy as pie. While you are there, make sure to update any other information that may be outdated in Realm! Thank you!
Update: There was a glitch with the Emergency Contact Phone field in Realm, which has now been fixed. If you were unable to add a complete phone number, please try again!
Join the Welcome Ambassadors!
Susan Warner-Mills, Membership Team
The FUUSB Membership Team cordially invites any interested members to join with us in welcoming newcomers by serving as official Welcome Ambassadors at Sunday in-person services. This commitment would involve showing up for services (probably once a month), arriving around 9:30 a.m. and staying through most of the coffee hour. Two Welcome Ambassadors would serve each Sunday, staffing and placing UU materials at tables located in the front vestibule and the side-door entryway. Additional details and a job description will be shared with anyone requesting more information.
Kind, heartfelt welcoming can be expressed in a multitude of ways. Even if you are not able to serve as a Welcome Ambassador at this time, we encourage you, when attending FUUSB events, to continue to extend the kind, cordial welcome so many Society members regularly show toward others who join us. The Membership Team believes that the quality of our “welcome” is one of the most precious features of our Society, one that most memorably defines us as a congregation.
If you are interested in the possibility of serving as a Welcome Ambassador, or if you simply would like more information, please contact Deborah Ragione at [email protected] or (802) 497-2346.
We look forward to hearing from you!
