August 26, 2021
Hello, Westview families,

Hooray for back to school! It was so wonderful to welcome students back to campus this week. Kids are settling into their routines, and teachers are getting to know their students. We are delighted to see and meet both new and old friends. I want to take this opportunity to say "thank you" to all our staff, families, and students for your continued adherence and support of school COVID protocols. We know that our students need to be on campus, and it takes all of us to do this safely. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation.

To celebrate back to school, let's have a spirit day! If this is your first year at Westview, it is a long tradition that "On Fridays We Wear Blue." An easy choice would be your Westview polo given to you in your welcome packet. We also have spirit t-shirts that our POW organization has sold through the years. Whatever Westview gear you choose, we cannot wait to close out the first week of the school year, showing our Westview Pride.

Cheers to a great year!

Westview Internal Notification System (W.I.N.S.)
Today, Thursday, August 26, 2021, we will be testing our Westview Internal Notification System (W.I.N.S.)

W.I.N.S is the way Westview can quickly and efficiently notify families of immediate school-wide information, announcements, and/or emergencies.

The system test is scheduled for TODAY at 3PM. The message will indicate that it is a test of the system. You will receive three notifications for the test: email, text and phone. If you do not receive all three forms of notification from our system, you should contact Candi Pettit by email or phone (713) 973-1900 to make sure that Westview has the most updated contact information for your family.
Student Health Screening Form Update
Thank you to everyone who took time to complete our STUDENT HEALTH SCREENING FORM prior to Monday drop-off. Parents can expect to receive an email with a link to the form every Sunday evening. Forms should be completed by 8:00AM Monday morning. We ask all families to self-screen each day and if any of your answers change to YES, notify Westview immediately prior to dropping your child off at carpool. Please remember you are answering these questions for your child.

Here is a quick how-to:

Each Sunday evening, login to FACTS Family Portal (formerly RENWEB) using YOUR CHILD’S login information. If you need help finding your child's login information, please contact your homeroom teacher.

Once logged in, you will find the Health Screening Form under WEB FORMS. Complete the form in its entirety and hit SAVE.

Thank you in advance for helping us be #westviewstrong and doing your part to protect all members of our community. y.

It is very important that if any of your answers change to YES, you must notify Westview immediately. Your child WILL NOT be permitted into school until the Health Screening has been discussed with Westview administration.

If your child is sick, please keep them home.

Any questions about the student health screening form can be directed to your class teacher or Ms. Candi.
Westview Welcomes Continue
We are so happy to have Chelsea Luviano join our Upper Elementary team as a teacher assistant. Ms. Luviano was born in Nashville, TN, but claims Corpus Christi as her hometown. Helping others and creating smiles every day is also something she loves to do. We think Chelsea will be an excellent new addition to our Westview family, and we can't wait to get to know you better.
