Message from the PA Presidents

Dear Brooklyn Tech Parents & Guardians,

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! It began on September 15th and ends on October 15th. The month is intended to celebrate Hispanic culture and recognize the impact Hispanics have had on the United States. Please save the date, October 11th, for a Hispanic Heritage celebration at BTHS. All students are welcome!

In this Edition:

As a reminder, all students should continue to check their schedules each day for any program changes, even if they did not submit a change request. Program changes can only go through Guidance Counselors (not the Parent Coordinator). To contact teachers, counselors, or admin., please use the “Message” feature on Jupiter or go to the faculty page on the BTHS website.

Please join us for the first PA General Meeting this Thursday, September 19th, at 6PM in the Auditorium! We will serve dinner and have merchandise for purchase. Principal Newman will be present to answer questions. For those who cannot join in person, the meeting will be recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel at the end of the week. It will not be livestreamed.

Please also see the update below about Freshmen Parent Reps. Our fall elections will take place at the General Meeting on October 17th.

See you at this week’s events!

Sincerely,

Tiffany Roberts & Kim Jalet

Current Annual Fundraising Progress

(Annual Fundraising Target for 2024-2025 School Year: $370,000)

The Brooklyn Tech Parents’ Association is busy preparing for the new year for your students, and all our Executive Board members are looking forward to serving our PA community for the 2024-2025 school year.

Last year Brooklyn Tech PA was able to sponsor many school and community events in person. This year we promise these events will be equally important and exciting.

PA is kindly asking for your generous donations to thrive and excel in our students' academics and crucial extracurriculars. The money raised by PA will help pay for crucial support and programs. We need your help!! Your donation is vital to helping Brooklyn Tech High School offer all students the quality and range of opportunities.

Our suggested amount for your gift is $750 per student. We recognize that $750 may be an easy gift for some, a stretch for many, and a real economic hardship for others. We ask that each family give whatever they are able to. Any amount counts, every donation matters! We greatly appreciate your gift and your participation is truly important.

Matching Gifts: Another way to increase your donation to our PA is through your company’s Matching Gift program. Please contact your Human Resource department to see if your company offers matching gifts.

Thank you for your generosity, time, and consideration. The Brooklyn Tech PA relies on donations from parents, guardians, families, friends, and community businesses to fund all of the enriching programs we sponsor. A school is as strong as its parent body, we look forward to an exciting year ahead!
