On Saturday, June 15th, the Armenian and Latino communities of Mission Hills came together for a spectacular Father’s Day BBQ that drew a crowd of over 1,000 attendees. This vibrant event, held to honor the father figures who play pivotal roles in their families and neighborhoods, was a resounding success, blending cultural festivities, delicious food, and heartfelt tributes.
From the beginning, the event buzzed with excitement. A variety of booths showcased local businesses and community services, providing attendees with information and engaging activities. The mouth-watering aroma of grilled meats filled the air, as over 2,000 tacos and 800 hot dogs were served to eager guests. The menu featured an array of delicious options including chicken and carne asada tacos, which were a big hit among the attendees.
One of the highlights was the surprise lowrider car show, which featured stunning vehicles and drew gasps of admiration from the crowd. Adding to the excitement were the Rancheros, men on horses, and 12 impressive choppers that paraded through the event, showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of the community. Special guest appearances included the iconic and popular podcast group, American Cholo, adding star power to the day.
