Session 3
A Note from Your Camp Director
Dear Parents,
We would like to welcome you to Pee Wee Camp 2021! We hope you find this newsletter helpful, as it will give you in detail what lies ahead for the next week. We have had a few questions regarding swimmer's itch at Main Beach. This week we received word from the McHenry County Department of Health of a report of potential swimmer's itch from Crystal Lake. We have been in communication with the MCDH this week and have passed all safety inspections. They noted that swimmers itch is common occurrence in all lakes, and is eliminated with high temperatures and/or an abundance of rain. They asked us to post information on our website, but with the high temperatures this week, it is very possible that notification will come down next week. As a district we wanted to be transparent and ensure all camp participants were aware. MCDH said there are no requirements for any shutdowns or interruptions of service. Main Beach was cleared to be open and remained open all week. They have recommended that we have those who utilize the water towel dry or shower immediately after leaving the water. The counselors will have the campers shower and towel dry immediately after leaving the water. It is our commitment to provide a fun and safe environment for the campers to enjoy the water. However, if you would prefer your child not to swim, we will have other activities available for them at the beach.
Please click on the following link and check out the Day Camp welcome letter, parent handbook, virtual orientation and drop off procedures video. Day Camp Important Information
