Update on Current COVID Protocols
as of Sunday, 31 July

  • We have returned to the Common Cup on Sundays and will offer wine and grape juice. There will be no intinction (dipping into the cup).
  • Masks at indoor services are strongly encouraged.
  • We will continue to wear masks in the office in all common areas, and those who have private offices may request visitors to wear masks. Please be respectful of staff wishes.

As a reminder, there are various levels of comfort in our community with masking, handshakes, and hugging, so please be respectful of others whose decisions differ from your own.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and flexibility. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Rev. D. or a member of the Vestry.
Rev. D and her wife, Kristen, are inviting you to a gathering at their home.

Choose from two summer dates,
both on Saturdays:
August 6 or September 10,
1 – 4 pm.
Sign up forms are found here.

These will be informal gatherings so come when you can and stay for however long you can. Hamburgers, hotdogs and beverages will be provided. Please bring either a side dish or dessert to share. If you have a favorite folding chair, please bring that too!

Needed For Trinity's Afghan Family

I. The older Dadwall kids, 8-y/o Abna and 6-y/o Abdul, have been given, through the generosity of Winding Trails Summer Camp, two free weeks at summer camp in August! Neither has ever been swimming, and they need life vests.  The refugee resettlement team seeks donations of life vests, or funds to purchase them, from our parishioners. Please note: Abna weighs 60 pounds at this time, and Abdul weighs 40 pounds.

II. The family needs a new computer. The reconditioned computer kindly donated by a local firm has unfortunately not worked out. We are looking for donation of a new computer or funds to purchase one.

If you can help with the life vests or computer, please contact Anne Rapkin at 860-521-5992 or anne.rapkin@gmail.com as soon as possible.

The Dadwalls wish to extend their immense gratitude to the many parishioners who have offered their time, talents, or funds to help the family begin a new life here, secure from the life-threatening dangers that continually surrounded them in their home country. Exile and resettlement in a completely new culture are a huge challenge, but with the help of many caring people, this family is not only surviving but thriving.
2022 Backpack Ministry
for Covenant to Care!

Trinity is once again participating in the Adopt A Social Worker program of Covenant to Care to provide back-to-school materials for Hartford children in need. We’ve been asked to provide backpacks with new school supplies for Middle School students (ages 11-13).

Suggested Supplies list is found here. Donations should be returned to either the Baptistery by Sunday, August 7th or to the office by Thursday, August 4th.

The altar flowers for Sunday, 31 July
are given to the glory of God
and in celebration
of Ray Wilson’s 80th birthday.
Education for Ministry Openings
at St. James’s, West Hartford

EFM is an enriching program for lay people which covers the Old and New Testaments in years one and two, then church history, theology, ethics, moral choices and interfaith encounters in the third and fourth years. It takes place in a small group setting of six to twelve group members. Course materials are structured by the University of the South School of Theology. Weekly meetings focus on readings, personal faith, and reflection on our own experiences and how God has been known to his people through history and in our own lives. A new session will begin in September. Contact Ron Ward, EfM Mentor: rtwtmr@comcast.net or cell: 860 463 8057.

Bring Your Reusable Water Bottles
to Church

As the weather has been heating up on Sundays, have you found yourself wishing you could easily get a cold drink of water? Now you can! There is now a water dispenser for cold, room temperature, and hot water located in the Baptistry near the Baptismal Font. (The Baptistry is the area behind the lectern in the front of the Sanctuary.) We will not be providing disposable cups so please bring your reusable water bottle.
Special Prayer Request

A member of our parish, Jacqui Lucier has advanced kidney disease and is in need of a transplant.

As we pray for Jacqui, we also ask that you prayerfully consider being screened as a potential kidney donor. For more information about living organ donation and to sign up to be screened, please visit nkr.org/SBB483. Please encourage your friends and family to consider donor screening.

To hear Jacqui talk about her illness and need for a transplant, watch this clip that has aired on local news.
Prayers for Ukraine

We pray for the people of Ukraine.
As we pray, you are strongly encouraged to support efforts to assist Ukrainian refugees by donating to the International Rescue Committee (www.rescue.org) or another reputable agency on the ground.
