Vietnamese Tuna Fishermen Hit Hard by New Regulations
The new tuna size regulations in Decree 37/2024/ND-CP have drastically reduced the value of catches for Vietnamese fishermen, leading to significant economic hardship and threatening the sustainability of the industry.
Returning from a 20-day fishing expedition in the Spratly Islands, 56-year-old fisherman Nguyen Nhon from Quang Ngai Province expressed deep concern over the plummeting prices of skipjack tuna.
