February 2022 News & Updates

Greetings!

We're almost through February. It's light early enough to ditch the headlamp for my morning runs and there's still light in the sky until almost 6 p.m. Truly signs of Spring! That's not to say there isn't still time for more snowfall and opportunities to ski, snowshoe, or whatever your wintertime hobby may be.

The year 2022 is still young, but it's proving deadly on Vermont's roadways. As of this writing (2/23/22), there have been nine fatalities--which is more than double than the previous five years.

Like all the people and organizations involved in highway safety, the VHSA will continue to educate Vermonters on the dangers of speed, impaired and distracted driving, and seat belt use and hope that it resonates.

We are planning on meeting in person at the Killington Grand Resort & Conference Center. We ask that attendees be masked and vaccinated so that everyone can safely participate in the summit.

Wednesday, May 11 - 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The Summit will be co-located with the Vermont Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association’s (VDTSEA) Spring Conference, so you’ll have the added benefit of networking with driving educators from across the state.

We have a great line-up of nationally recognized speakers as well as local experts. An updated agenda will be available in the coming weeks.
