During this Primary campaign, one candidate has used deliberate misinformation and lies to argue that I don't work hard or care about my constituents. I want to show you just what my constituents DO say about me.

Below are some of the emails I've received from constituents and readers just over the last three years. (I have copied these directly from the emails.)

......"First and foremost thank you so very much for all you do on our behalf to bring smarter ways of addressing issues of all depth and breadth from the constituents to the political forces in Annapolis and from Annapolis to the constituents......I am very much on the same page with your efforts and reasoning listed herein."

....."I could not believe I have been moved out of your district! I consulted my sample ballot, and I am not able to vote for you anymore.

.....You have been the only politician to ever respond to my original service question and you have kept me informed the entire session. No other Delegate or Senator has ever performed that service. I assume that they think we citizens only need to hear from them at election time!

.....Thank you so much for being the best politician that I ever had representing me. Keep up the good fight.”

"I believe I have mentioned this to you before, but I wanted to reiterate just how impressive your legislative updates are. Our district – and our state – is lucky to have you. Your updates are always so well written and researched that I think they should be required reading at all the schools!

So, I am going to do a couple of things:

Make my kids read this
Push it out on Maryland Free’s social media
If possible, add it to the Maryland Free website

Your frank discussion of school politics and policies is necessary and greatly appreciated. . . . I follow state and local legislation, but it was not until I read your email that I learned that the 2020 bill (vetoed) and 2021 bill to settle a lawsuit for $577M is a huge taxpayer ripoff. The court sustained a minor count not worth any monetary damages. Thank you for explaining the case.

......"I particularly enjoyed and appreciate your most recent newsletter with the discussion of the need for school choice. I am a member of the President’s Club at Hillsdale College. Hillsdale has a wonderful Charter School development and support organization (The Barney Charter Schools Project).

......I have been racking my brain for two years trying to figure out how we can get a Barney Charter School in Montgomery County or almost anywhere in the state! I am told repeatedly that it is impossible in Maryland because the teacher’s unions are so powerful and the legislature is so weak about taking this issue up. . . .

......The Barney folks have told me on several occasions that they have not and will not devote resources to obtaining a Charter in Maryland because the law, unions, etc are so powerful and anti-Charter. I would like to figure out a way to overcome that."
