UPCOMING SERMON
Those Kind of People
Scripture: Matthew 9:9-13
A GREAT DAY IN THE KINGDOM

Have you ever heard the scripture quoted that tells us to “Love your enemies”? The God of Abraham and Isaac created us and in doing so knows what we are as well as, how we are. There has not been a person created on this earth...

WHAT'S HAPPENING
GOOD WISHES LANE!
July 25th, 10:00am, Chapel

Aledo United Methodist Church has been blessed to have Lane Davis join us and share his talents and love for Christ these past couple of years. Lane moved to Texas to pursue his PhD at SMU's Perkins Seminary. He met and fell in love with a local Texas woman, Elissa. He married her and they have two beautiful children. However, Lane's long term dream job was to become a professor at his alma mater, Huntingdon College, in Montgomery, AL. This week, he was offered that position. Lane and Elissa will be moving to Alabama in August. His last day with AUMC will be July 25th. We will have a celebration for Lane following the 9:00am on July 25th. Please come and say thanks to Lane. A table will be set up in the Narthex for cards.
WELCOME MASON CRESS
AUMC Staff Parish Relations Committee is pleased to announce that our search for a new Director of Worship & Music has been fruitful! Mason Cress will join the AUMC family on July 20th. Hopefully you had a chance to see him at the Sunday 11:00 service on June 20th as he filled in for the traveling Lane. Mason will be directing worship service on July 25th. Please welcome him with the love of Christ when you see him walking around the church.
YOUNG ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS
Sundays, 10:00am, Room #208

The new Young Adult Sunday School class is open to those in college, young adults starting their careers, and any other young person looking for a group to grow their faith with. We meet in room 208 at 10 AM on Sundays. We are starting off with a Bible study in Philippians called, "Get Out of Your Head". This study will help us discover biblical tools to battle toxic and destructive thoughts and anxiety. Each of the six sessions includes an activity or icebreaker, a video, and several scripture readings to discuss. Hope to see many of our young adults there to begin a new faith journey together!
