THE
CORINTHIAN 93
Corinthian Lodge No. 93 A.F.&A.M.
August 2022
"If it isn't in the 93, you probably didn't need to know it anyway."
TO OUR DEAR BROTHERS SCATTERED AROUND THE WORLD:
We thought you might enjoy seeing some of the fun things our Lodge is doing these days. So, we've put together this light-hearted little "picture book" for you to see and enjoy some of our recent activities and learn about what's coming up.

Under the enthusiastic leadership of WM Joe Frank, SW Rick Jones and many other brothers, we're having a great time together enjoying the riches and blessings of Masonry.

You may reply to the Editor with any comments, jabs, etc.

We charged our canons at April's black-tie Table Lodge
A Corinthian Lodge first, at least as far as anyone can remember, we closed April with a rousing and spirited Table Lodge.

In the photo above, seated to the right of WM Joe Frank is our guest speaker, the humorously engaging S. Brent Morris, Ph.D., mathematician and well-known author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Freemasonry.
As an added treat, we each went home with a beautiful souvenir etched crystal Corinthian Lodge canon/shot glass.

If you would like a canon for yourself we still have a few left. They are $20. Call Brother Joe Creamer at 410-218-0863.
The stunningly beautiful Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania did not disappoint!
In June, accompanied by some of our wives, we hopped a charter bus to Philadelphia. As we stood out front at the entrance, you could watch jaws drop at the magnificence of the Grand Lodge building.

As we went from one palatial room to another, it was almost too much splendor and esoteric grandeur to absorb at one time.
We marveled at the themed Lodge Halls, each one stunningly beautiful and ornate.

Brother JW Justin Fuller arranged for our own personal tour guide who explained the history and architecture associated with each of the magnificent lodges.

After the formal tour we enjoyed a superb catered buffet lunch under the watchful eye of a larger than life statue of Ben Franklin
After the formal tour we enjoyed a superb catered buffet lunch under the watchful eye of a larger than life statue of Ben Franklin.
One highlight of the museum was seeing the actual apron of Brother George Washington, gifted to him by Lafayette.

This statue outside the Grand Lodge depicts Washington presenting that apron to Brother Ben Franklin.
Then there were nine...
On July 23, 2022, nine Fellowcrafts (including your Editor) were raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason—all in the same day!
We had help with this grand scheme from the Knights of Mecca who came to raise half the class, while the other half were being raised at the same time in another lodge room by the Corinthian officers.

Following lunch, everyone gathered in the main lodge to watch one final Fellowcraft, Brother Richie Jones, raised by his father, SW Rick Jones, and the Knights of Mecca assisted by the Corinthian officers.
It was also a special day for the Frank family as Brother Brendan Frank had the honor of being raised by his father, WM Joseph F. Frank, Jr., witnessed by his grandfather, Joseph F. Frank, Sr.
Have you ever thrown a hatchet?

We even did that!

After a July catechism class, a bunch of us went over to Stumpy's Hatchet House in Towson Commons for a night of really unusual fun.
It's amazing how, after just a short time, you can get really good with one of those things!

We'll be throwing again so join us at Stumpy's on the lower level of Towson Commons on October 26th at 7:00 PM. Call Brother Justin Fuller (443-800-6523) for details and reservations.
The Grand Master's Ball highlighted the summer social calendar
On July 27, five Corinthian Lodge brothers along with their wives attended a ball at the Grand Lodge of Maryland honoring the Most Worshipful Grand Master Marlin L. Mills, pictured here in the center.

As a token of grateful thanks and appreciation for his leadership this year, the Lodge presented Worshipful Master Joe Frank and his lovely wife, Karen, with tickets to the ball.
"You're telling me even HE was a Mason?!"
Dr. Alexander Fleming

Sir Alexander Fleming (1881-1955) was a Scottish-born biologist and pharmacologist. In 1928, he discovered penicillin, a drug which was to save thousands of lives in World War II and millions around the world thereafter. He shared a Nobel Prize in 1945 for this world health changing achievement.

A busy Freemason when time allowed, Dr. Fleming was a member of the London Scottish Rifles Lodge No. 2310.
