St. Mary Nativity Church is now accepting applications for a part-time, non-benefitted Maintenance Custodian. The person in this position is responsible for performing general maintenance tasks including janitorial, completing work orders, maintaining the grounds at St. Mary Nativity and Holy Cross parishes. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. This is an hourly position; hourly rate is commensurate knowledge and experience. Full-time Administrative Assistant – St. Mary Nativity Parish, Joliet, Il
St. Mary Nativity Parish is seeking candidates for employment as an administrative assistant. The administrative assistant will be responsible for staffing the front desk, answering phones and the main door, maintaining sacramental and parishioner records, gathering information for upcoming sacramentals, secretarial assistance for the pastor and parish ministries, managing the parish calendar, and editing the parish bulletin. Additional responsibilities also include maintaining the Protecting God’s Children (PGC), files, the parish website and the Electronic Message Board. Candidates must have good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team in coordination with parish staff. This position requires the desire and ability to support the mission of the Catholic Church. Office experience is required, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher. Experience with the Diocese of Joliet software platforms is an asset. High school diploma required; some higher education is desirable. Fluency in Spanish is an asset, though not a requirement. Must support the mission, philosophy, objectives and policies of St. Mary Nativity Parish and the Diocese of Joliet. This exempt position is full-time and benefited. There will be a Day of Recollection for Women on Wednesday, September 15th, from 11:00am -1:00 pm at St. Mary Nativity Church, 706 N. Broadway, Joliet, IL 60435.  The recollection will include several short talks, Eucharistic Adoration, and the opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation. All of the women in the parish are invited. Please bring a friend!
