The Ohio Craft Museum’s summer exhibition will showcase new work by Columbus artists Marcia Armstrong and Char Norman that reflects their respect for and connection to nature.
Armstrong describes her project-oriented work as an intersection of art and science. She often uses bamboo, Ohio-grown willow and other living plant materials that are native to the state. Norman uses fiber-art techniques such as weaving, coiling and paper making, while integrating natural materials, to create her work, which “stems from a deep-rooted connection to natural objects and environmental issues while examining the relationship between man and nature.”
An opening reception will be held at the Ohio Craft Museum on Saturday, August 10, 5:30 pm–7:30 pm, with gallery talks by Armstrong and Norman at 6:30 pm. The exhibition will remain on view through Saturday, September 28.
