In 2013 at the HITS Ocala Winter Celebration in Ocala, Fla., Patty Stovel rode Carigor Z to eighth in the $100,000 Sullivan GMC Truck Grand Prix. Stovel had a decorated career in the hunter and jumper rings, finishing as the top U.S. rider, in 13th, at the 1994 FEI World Equestrian Games (the Netherlands). She died Sept. 29 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Mollie Bailey Photo
