This week we're presenting the Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park, Cape Ann Museum and Childs Gallery
As a heat wave continues to make itself at home in New England, beat the heat indoors at these three galleries and museums. Two selections highlight the work of contemporary masters while one selection allows you to marvel at the beauty of nature, safely, from an air-conditioned gallery. These three exhibitions are sure to please.

One River, Many Views at the Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park

Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park presents One River, Many Views, an exhibition showcasing the work of Nancy Diessner, Brenda Garand, and Janet Pritchard. In this show, each artist was tasked with capturing the Connecticut River — its beauty and its majesty. The three artist's work, which represent the power of nature through sculpture, painting and photography, will be presented alongside wall labels written by people from the surrounding community who engage with the Connecticut River. The gallery is open every day, 9 a.m. — 4:30 p.m. Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park is located at 139 Saint Gaudens Road, Cornish, NH. For more information, please visit here.

Castagnacci: Notes from a Quarry at the Cape Ann Museum

Cape Ann Museum presents Castagnacci: Notes from a Quarry, featuring the work of Vincent Castagnacci, a contemporary artist with New England roots. This exhibit displays his work from the mid-2000s onward. Castagnacci's work is striking while being utterly minimal, expertly utilizing line to draw the eye across the canvas. His use of muted, almost industrial, colors and drafting marks are reminiscent of architectural mock-ups elevated into art. Childs Gallery presents Robert S. Neuman: Works on Paper, featuring the work of Robert S. Neuman. This exhibit highlights Neuman's work in mixed media and on paper. His modernist and at-the-time cutting edge artwork uses heavy abstract symbolism and color to deliver a captivating experience that is overwhelming and endlessly fascinating. John Douglas’ memorial retrospective documents his long, productive, and substantive body of work. Douglas called himself a “Truth Activist”. His irreverent, activist beliefs, and Zen-like appreciation of the world fueled his decades of creative output. Douglas unceasingly addressed injustice, hypocrisy, unjust wars, and climate change. In “Homeland Security'' he leverages American symbols and uses himself as a central actor with near complete humility to create a forceful critique of our cultural priorities.
NNEMoCA engages people with important ideas, the ongoing dialogue in contemporary visual arts & culture, and creates transformative experiences for visitors by fostering meaningful dialogue and challenging established perceptions.
