No Rector's Forum This Sunday

Schedules seem to have worked out this summer such that I am gone the first Sunday of every month. There will be no Rector's Forum this Sunday, but I look forward to our first Rector's Forum of the Fall on Sunday, September 5th at 9 am. Faith & Reason will take place this coming Sunday. Please see the information below.

Teri

Melissa Out of Office

Melissa Simpson will be out of the office from July 23 to July 31, returning to work on August 1. Please contact the office if you need anything.
Congratulations to Kyler and Hannah Burton Lee on Their Recent Marriage

On July 22nd, Kyler and Hannah were married in a service on a Florida beach. Congratulations Kyler, Hannah, Kitty, and Piper! We wish you a lifetime of happiness.

O God, you have so consecrated the covenant of marriage that in it is represented the spiritual unity between Christ and his Church: Send your blessing upon Kyler and Hannah, that they may so love, honor, and cherish each other in faithfulness and patience, in wisdom and goodness, that their home may be a haven of blessing and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
The Bishop's Fund

On the first Sunday of each month, the undesignated cash in the offering plate goes to the All Saints' Clergy Discretionary Fund to help people in our community and beyond.

The Bishop's Fund also works to help people in need lead lives of dignity. This year the Bishop’s Fund has already given grants to support
congregations, ministries, organizations, and individuals, including the following:
  • Feeding programs and food banks within Arkansas Episcopal congregations.
  • Housing programs overseen by our congregations for people who have no place to live and need a new start in life.
  • Individual assistance to help with expenses for out-of-work or underemployed people.
  • Development work across the diocese, which has continued even during the pandemic.
  • Organizations beyond the Episcopal Church that do work to improve people’s lives, such as the Arkansas Food Bank.

All Saints' has benefited from the generosity of the diocese through grants received to support Neighbors Table and to fund the translation of sermons and services from English to Karen.

This Sunday, August 1st, instead of supporting our own discretionary fund, all undesignated cash in the offering plate will go to support the Bishop's Fund. You may also write a check made payable to All Saints' with "Bishop's Fund" in the memo line, and we will include that in the money that goes to the Bishop's Fund.

All Saints' Rummage Sale Postponed

The Rummage Sale previously scheduled for August 13th and 14th is being postponed. With the rapidly rising number of Covid cases in our area, the current lack of air conditioning in Sutherland, and blazing temperatures outside, we have decided to wait until a better time for our rummage sale. Thank you to all who have helped so far!
Neighbors Table Weekly Update

Last week we served 154 meals to our drive-thru and delivery families. We are still giving out information about vaccinations. Thanks to everyone who helps make this ministry possible!

This Saturday we are planning a chicken dish, veggies not yet determined. We’ll have fresh fruit and assorted desserts. With our dedicated cooking team on board it promises to be a delicious and healthy meal!

Remember our Sutherland white boards for Neighbors Table teams? They are back in business! You’ll see that each board covers one week now. Please take a look and sign up for a day and job you can help with. On-the job training is provided. We hope you will join us soon! All volunteers must be fully vaccinated; we still follow safety precautions from start to finish. Questions?  Text or call Charlie at 479-857-0480 or Catherine at 479-264-4346.

Please remember Neighbors Table in your prayers. We give grateful thanks for the abundant support that our church and our community provide this ministry.

Evening Prayer from July 14, 2021 with Charles Tyrone. All are welcome to join us at All Saints' at 6pm on Wednesday for in person prayer. Then a video from the service will be uploaded that night.

Please celebrate the following birthdays this week with us: George McLellan, Mindy Hudson, Fran Ferris, and Noma Kellner.

O God, our times are in your hand: Look with favor, we pray, on
your servants as they begin another year. Grant that they may grow
in wisdom and grace, and strengthen their trust in your goodness
all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For those celebrating an anniversary this week:

O gracious and everliving God, look mercifully upon your servants who come to renew the promises they have made to each other. Grant them your blessing, and assist them with your grace, that with true fidelity and steadfast love they may honor and keep their promises and vows; through Jesus Christ our Savior, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Please let the office know if your birthday or anniversary has been missed, so that we may add the date to our records.

You can designate your donation toward a specific ministry or our general fund.
