Scholarship Opportunities
Applications are OPEN for the following Community Foundation scholarships:
  • NEW - Cindy Graves Nursing Scholarship Fund (For current nursing professionals who intend to continue their nursing education.)
  • Ed and Kim Kapper Physical Therapy Scholarship (For graduate students pursuing a degree in physical therapy.)
  • Jeffrey A. Trail Memorial Scholarship (For applicants formally admitted to the United States Naval Academy.)
  • Renaissance Scholarship (For an individual who is returning to school after being part of the workforce.)
  • Spinoso Masters Scholarship (For students pursuing post-undergraduate studies.) 
Interested scholarship applicants should review the scholarship guidelines for each award to confirm eligibility prior to beginning the application.

Scholarship Fund Announces Logo Contest Winner
Congratulations to Emmett Prais Lewis of DeKalb High School, winner of the DHS Alumni Scholarship Fund logo design contest.

Give DeKalb County 2023
Support your favorite nonprofit organizations during Give DeKalb County! On May 4, donate online all day at GiveDeKalbCounty.org. If you prefer to give by check, follow the mail-in instructions (April 20 - May 4), or stop by our donation drop off on May 4.

Illinois Creative Recovery Grants Open
Thanks to advocacy efforts from a statewide coalition led by Arts Alliance IL, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity will distribute $50 million in grant money to eligible organizations in the creative sector that suffered losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Internship Program Update
Meet Isabel Castanon, a participant in the Internship Program. She is a political science major at Northern Illinois University and serves as an intern with Safe Passage.

The Internship Program is a collaboration between the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership, the Center for Nonprofit Studies, and Career Services at Northern Illinois University, supported by the Douglas C. and Lynn M. Roberts Family Foundation.
