Empowering people with disabilities to lead independent and inclusive lives in the community.

From the Executive Director

Dear Friends,

While some parents and children are wishing summer break could last longer, other families are looking forward to getting back into a predictable routine once school begins this month and next. My oldest son starts college this month and my younger son will be a junior in high school. Gone are the days of fighting the mad rush at big box stores to get the right pencils, etc. But in a way, I will miss that.

Despite the potential challenges from COVID-19 we may face this coming school year, kids with disabilities are excited to be back into a regular schedule, excited to learn new things, and participate in new activities with their peers.

Whether your child is returning to the classroom or learning online, there are many free online resources that parents may find useful for their children in preparing them for back-to-school. Check out Free Back to School Resources for Kids With Disabilities. And as a parent, you will want to assure you are ready for the new school year as well. Here is a comprehensive list for back-to-school reminders and readiness from the CDC.

Is there something else not listed here where we can possibly be of assistance? If so, please contact us at 513-241-2600 or send us an e-mail. We stand ready to assist people with disabilities of all ages in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. I extend my best wishes to you and your families for a meaningful and successful year of education and personal growth.

As always, I enjoy hearing from you. Please feel free to call me by phone at 513-338-5100 or by email

Regards,

Rob Festenstein

P.S. And for those of you who have read this far, I have a $10 gift card to Starbucks to the THIRD person to click here and indicate that you have read my message.
