Happy Fall!
The seasons change but our mission remains the same. We continue to build affordable homes for low-income working families in Fairfield County. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to change lives for the better. I am so amazed by our future homeowners as they attend required workshops while helping to build their homes alongside our staff and volunteers. We are so thankful for our donors, supporters, and volunteers. Collectively, we ensure that our families have a decent place to call home. This month, we held another Home Dedication. It is so exciting when a family share their new path of homeownership with their families and friends.
Thank you for investing your time, talent, and treasure in the work that we do!
At Habitat CFC, we put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
Blessings!

Congratulations to new Habitat homeowner Marie and her son, Xavier!
Congratulations to Marie and her son, Xavier! Their friends and family, along with Habitat staff, board members, local officials, and community members, gathered to celebrate their special milestone!
✨ Marie and Xavier opened the door to their Habitat house on the East Side of Bridgeport! 🏠💙
This moment was a complete surprise for Xavier; he discovered for the first time that his mom went through the entire process to make his dream of having a backyard and bedroom a reality! It started off emotional for him, but he quickly began planning what color to paint the walls and how to set up his new room!
Marie said, “I never thought I would be able to afford my own home, especially in Connecticut. This will change my life in more ways than I can imagine. Most importantly, it gives stability. I won’t have to worry about rent increases or whether I can renew my lease next year. It gives me peace of mind knowing I have complete control.”
We are thrilled for this new beginning for Marie and Xavier as they turn this house into a home. The future is looking bright thanks to Marie’s commitment to partnering with us and her determination to become a first-time homeowner!

Volunteer Spotlight: ASML
Building community, one day at a time! 🏠💚💙
ASML celebrated their 40th anniversary by volunteering with us for an entire week in September! We are so grateful for the incredible progress made in Fairfield thanks to their support!
Adam from ASML said, "I actually happen to live a mile up the road, so this was pretty cool to be literally building in my neighborhood and giving back for affordable housing. I live in the area and I know how expensive houses are around here and what it means to the community to have this opportunity."

Pre-Closing Workshop:
Preparing Families for Homeownership
|
On Wednesday, September 25, 2025, the Family Services Department hosted a Pre-Closing Workshop for Habitat for Humanity families. Six families were in attendance. The workshop provided critical information about the mortgage process and what families can expect as they approach their home closings.
Key Topics Covered:
Families were informed about mortgage terms, payment schedules, escrow and property taxes, homeowners insurance, closing costs, home maintenance, post-closing support, budgeting and financial planning, homeowner rights and responsibilities, and final walkthrough expectations.
This comprehensive workshop was designed to ensure that families feel confident and fully prepared for the transition into homeownership. The Family Services Department remains committed to providing ongoing support as they embark on this exciting new chapter.

Exterior Progress Brings ADA-Compliant Habitat Home Closer to a Reality for a Bridgeport Family!
We’re making great progress with exterior improvements on our Habitat house on Arctic Street in Bridgeport’s East Side! This home, originally left unfinished by a contractor, was generously donated to us by the City of Bridgeport. 🏠✨
The best part? This home is ADA compliant and will soon provide comfort and accessibility for a deserving family, including a child who uses a wheelchair. They’re eagerly preparing to move in and start a new chapter!
Stay tuned for updates as we start the interior work and move closer to turning this dream into a reality for a deserving family. 🙌
